psycherhexicMemberI think I might have listened to a few psytrance albums over the last 6 months.. I think Sacred Earth is just soooo amazing that it fills my trance cravings. I'm already starting to itch though!
Can't wait!
psycherhexicMemberwhy do you like the uhbik plugs so much?

psycherhexicMemberdon't forget that the end of the world is happening. :-*
psycherhexicMemberI thought Abe's workshop was wonderful, the laughing therapy was great!
Terrafractyl was the best non-electrypnose psy set I've ever heard!!!!!! serious win.
I really enjoyed playing music this time, I was surprised that a few people actually sat through my set :P.
Weather was perfect. Plenty of flopping wieners. Stayed awake for the most part. Southwild and EVP destroyed. Learned how to sustain/build a small fire to cook with. No ticks.
I really don't know how it could've been any better! 🙂
here's to hoping I can afford the journey again in august.. I've nearly prayed for you guys to bring out some ultimae artists.. soooo amazing!
thanks everyone!
psycherhexicMemberI like everything except the drums. Especially the kick to me doesn't seem to work for some reason.
I agree with gadget on introducing some faster high hat runs.. That stabby wiggle lead is really nice though, I'd like to know how to make it 🙂
psycherhexicMember24 hours counting… now. ;D
psycherhexicMemberthere is nothing unique about wanting attention. is it a disease?
psycherhexicMemberit really is soon! 4 of us are coming from from kansas city! ;D hopefully I can stay awake this year ::)
psycherhexicMemberdoes the death penalty really cost more than imprisonment for life?

psycherhexicMemberI got the email back from my senator about the planned parent hood.. it said he was “DEEPLY AGAINST PLANNED PARENTHOOD” “ABORTION IS MURDER”…
I then realised, again, that every story has two sides. We will never succeed with so many possibilities….
:-
psycherhexicMemberI would suggest getting whatever DAW has the best features in that year. I mean they all end up the same at some point or another.. but if you are just starting out why not get the one with the most up to date feature set? I wouldn't consider NOT using ableton. However, I'll be learning Cubase in a class this fall and I'm super excited.. I'll eventually learn how to use logic and pro tools as well. Hell, I hope to be able to make full tracks in my Maschine with a little more practice. DON'T spend hundreds of dollars on a DAW without messing with a few demo's.. also don't forget that most give massive student edu discounts.
If you really want to get in to it I would suggest buying the highest quality stuff possible in the first go.. using crap monitors and a slow computer work great for the patient.. but it is the one thing I would have avoided looking back.
If you play the piano you should get a synth… I mean I know how busy you are and the computer side is deeper than any rabbit hole.. BUT getting a sick little synth where you can just hit the on switch in between breakfast and the shower can really get you in the swing of creativity. Also most synths will have midi i/o so when you do get a computer you can control your plug-ins.
plan on spending thousands.. successful producers have spent less.. other successful producers spend hundreds of thousands, sometimes new gear is part of the fun. especially for someone classically trained.. you have a market/audience that WOULD LOVE to see you play real live music.. which will probably cost quite a bit.
like kevin said.. just wait, stuff changes so rapidly. 2014 will hopefully have MANY new tools available…
…ableton 10… 😮
psycherhexicMemberthat link to Tarekith's review should talk about “re-mapping” in there somewhere.
I'm positive you can remap anything you want.. however, it might delete all mappings? that would suck.. so its hopefully/probably not the case.
psycherhexicMemberaalto is my new favorite. I'm not very good at just going in and programming those kinds of “fx”.. but I notice that anytime I just map out like 15+ controls in any virtual synth to a midi controller and just tweak.. I end up with plenty of “psy” “fx”.. getting them to sit in a mix is another story :-[
psycherhexicMember;D hence the 😛 face…
a Mubali show in Springfield, MO was actually going to be my first “psy” party. I'm from Missouri.. des moine is 4 hours, chicago is 8, etc… I've “planned” on seeing him several times, never worked out.
this time for sure though! :-*
