PauldoMemberMy friend & I have even seen a naked alien run through the forest on a beam of light. It was either that or a homeless guy who likes to shave all his hair off and run around in the woods at night wearing nothing but glowing reflector skiis and a skin colored jock-strap
yeah about that Trip…we told The Fixer he shouldn't be running around the woods like that! 😛
I had this dream many years ago that I had awoken in my parents basement and was sleeping on the couch. I noticed across the room that there were two typical looking “greys” aliens. One a little shorter than the other. Laying on the other side of the couch was this old guy that I worked with named Doug. I tried to scream out at Doug but I couldn't say a word because there was this large beam of light coming out of my mouth. At the end of the beam was this book I had been reading called Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. I tried to reach out for Doug to wake him up but I began to rise up and float away. I ended up floating to the middle of the room, sitting cross legged and the beam of light a couple feet out in front of me with the book on the end. The aliens were to the left/front of me and Doug was on the couch to the right. Weirdest thing though I discovered in 3-4 weeks this little knot behind my right ear…and have discovered others over the years on my body (I think they're just calcium deposits).
So the next day at work I told this guy Doug about him being in my dream. He's all into numerology and fortune telling, etc. He said to me that the beam of light in my dream represents my ascension to a higher plane of existence. So maybe there's something to that beam o' light that you had experienced. You've made it to the next level…woo hoo!!! Or maybe this guy Doug was a 55 year old security guard who lived with his mother and who had to be reminded to bathe from time to time…with soap! He once made a prediction that I would be stricken down between the ages of 30-33 with a serious illness or injury! Or maybe it just means that I ascended from reading cheesy self help books for good.
Oh how bitter I have become over the years! ;D
PauldoMemberExiles by Xerox. I'm sure I had listened to it previously since I only have older music but for some reason today it arrested my attention. gravity waves…next one that's nice too

PauldoMemberooohhh…I just found this thread…some neat ideaers here and all
I make a concerted effort to fight magical thinking when I can. I see things more as unknown or undiscovered to us vs a magical cause or a magical location or a magical time. That's not to say there aren't some very cool and awesome things out there. We just haven't discovered/invented them or haven't been there yet or haven't reached that time yet. Truth really is so much stranger than fiction. Determining what things mean is an automatic and necessary function of our physical survival. Even our physical mind will fill in missing information unconciously not to mention how we choose to conciously assign meaning to our experiences, existence, universe, etc. No magic to it all…life is just cool and awesome all by itself.
PauldoMemberbabel on my sister from another mister! ;D

PauldoMemberI and Me = 2 of us! seriously though count me for 2. my friend Julie has been itchin for another go at it since I brought her to Dreamfields
PauldoMemberyeah I know…I went into a panic when I couldn't pull up the forum…like a junkie who needed his fix!
PauldoMemberSo Paul, Damon is topping you? 😮
Ha! Funny…good one Jef. I'm surprised you know what that language means. But bless your heart for being open and accepting. If anyone needs a personal demonstration then yes Damon would be happy to provide you a personal demo. Just kidding! Always just joking…never intending to offend anyone. 🙂
PauldoMemberHEY!!! Damon's pin is blocking MY pin on the map! >:( ;D
PauldoMemberYou gotta read Lee Smolin's Life of the Cosmos. He is an physicist who talks about the universe as almost a biological organism, and that the conditions of the universe appear to be tuned for the development of life and intelligent life, because intelligent life forms eventually generate lots of black holes, which is how universes make babies. Universes reproduce, in other words, and we “enable” greater number of offspring. (we haven't yet, but we will, because black holes are the ultimate power source and means of transportation). Gotta read the book, you absolutely must.
Ooohhh…that sounds like a wonderful read. I shall check it out.
PauldoMemberDown with Homewood!!! ;D
PauldoMemberBut once a sapient species can alter their own DNA the WATCH OUT. The weirdness machine I think really takes off like crazy then. Once evolution comes to an end and biological diversity is generated by engineered decisions, all bets are off.
so I really could have more than one penis someday??? awesome! I can't wait!!! ;D
seriously though…I wonder how many people on this board do believe that there is intelligent life on other planets and furthermore how many believe that those other intelligent life forms have actually been to our planet/have had contact with humans???
Aliens are def a theme in our music and scene whether the reference to aliens is just in a joking or serious manner. I do think our scene is a bit more open minded than the general population. Does that open mindeness then in turn makes us more accepting to the plausibility that aliens do exist? Or is our common past experiences (chemistry) give us the perception of existence outside of what we know? I know my past experiences could have led to my alien perception. But I also looked at those experiences without need to define them. Basically wondering where the alien theme came from that is in our music/scene?
I think Trip. Pip. spoke about her direct experience. I don't have any such experiences (never seen a ghost either). So without having any greater evidence I would believe it less likely that we have been visited by intelligent life. I do think it highly likely that intelligent life does exist on other worlds somewhere in this universe. With the vast number of galaxies and stars it would seem illogical that we would be the only intelligent life. It would be pretty egocentric to think we are IT. Like the Drake equation…thought up by an astrophysicist to equate the plausibility of intelligent life existing on other planets… I think the last calculation gave a number of 1 out of every 10,000 planets would have life…which actually makes life quit abundant in the universe. And as more is discovered about the individual varients in the Drake equation the more plausible the possibility of intelligent life becomes. Except for distance! It is firmly believed now that the universe is expanding out from itself and will do nothing but continue to expand. Thus the distance between galaxies will just get greater and greater. The distance is what makes me question whether aliens have ever made it to our planet. Is it plausible that any intellgent life anywhere in the universe would develop the means to reach another intelligent planet??? Is there even any kind of physical force or technology yet undiscovered that would make it possible? I sure hope I get to find out!
And if aliens ever do land in Chicago I'm gonna tell them they need to check in at the airport with immigration just like all the other visitors have to do from outside the country. I bet ya the mayor will tax their asses too just like every other ship that lands at O hare n' Midway (sooooouuuuuth-siiiiiiide!!!) It does bother me though that the open arrival and interaction with aliens is thought of as an automatic panacea for all our ills. I'm still gonna have to get up tomorrow morning and go to my job. My landlord is still gonna want his rent. No guarantees that they're gonna be nice aliens either! They may just come down here and stick extra penises on us. I can't wait! ;D
PauldoMemberso I found me a wonderful lightsaber today at Borders. Pricey but it's a real replica one. Picked red. Lady at the counter asked me if it was for myself and I said of course. I strongly believe in buying toys for oneself. The other lady, who actually looked like the Oracle from the Matrix, told me that I'd be back for the other colors. I scoffed at her assertion but after playing with it all night I def want to go back and get the other ones now. They had red, green and blue.
PauldoMemberOne thing that I dig about Paul Richards drawings are that they don't neccesarily follow any anatomically correct rules as human beings generally except them to be. I have heard the belief that if we ever do meet intelligent life from another planet that they wouldn't neccesarily follow the “two eyes, two ears, one nose and a mouth” rule which just happens to be the anatomically dominant life form on our planet. Good chance that the dominant life form that took hold and developed intelligence on another planet wouldn't follow the two eyes, two ears, one nose and a mouth standard found on earth. Or I've heard that it could have been an entirely different species on our own planet instead of us hominids…it could have reptiles.
Actually one of only a few good storiy lines of Star Trek Enterprise was the single planet that had 4 different species evolve and develop intelligence at the same time. It was the aquatics, the insectoids, the reptillians and the primates.
I just found a 5-nut, peanut!
PauldoMemberoppss nevermind…I found it!
PauldoMemberPaul..do you have a central repos for all the pics you have posted on here? I sent hallo to one of my friends who writes sci-fi and he loved it! I would like to send him a link to all the others.
