EklypzMemberRight now the darkness could mean whatever it means to you. To me it means what prevents us from achieving our evolved selves. What separates us from Gaia, or each other, or keeps us from greatness and beauty.
Darkness is a boundary or constrictive layer. Any birth process needs to pass through constriction to be complete. That is what it is about IMHO. Darkness also defines and channels.
Ok, I see where you are coming from. To me, the first part is for finding the beginning of the journey and the second is when a person becomes more advanced so interesting they are both here. Prolly a conversation best left for in person before I come off as an arrogant ass lol.
I see darkness more as #2, also good for offensive actions that bind for a certain cause and combatting negative intent or tricking energy vampires 😉
getting a bit deep so will stop 🙂

i think darkness and light (or any duelistic system, which in the end equals unity)
are both available options to be utilized by humanity, but does that mean we should???
Whenever you wield dark energy, it affects you……like if you eat Dorittos, your farts smell like MSG! 😮 ;D

Whenever you wield dark energy, it affects you…I disagree, energy is just energy.
Intent is another issue.
But I tend to see things in shades of grey..
HARDKORNATEMemberI know for a fact that I channel energy when I play for people who are in a certain state of mind.

i agree with jeff, energy moves freely from body to body, space to space, dimension to dimension, psyke to psyke. “Dark” energy or negtive energy is created by man, it is merely a perversion of the nature of energy, or energy expelled with a negative purpose…say war. there is no energy that pushes one to do such things, only intentions and reactions. then energy is utilized to carry out such deeds. but even then, the energy expelled does not stay negative, for out of the rubble rises the pheonix.
PauldoMemberooohhh…I just found this thread…some neat ideaers here and all
I make a concerted effort to fight magical thinking when I can. I see things more as unknown or undiscovered to us vs a magical cause or a magical location or a magical time. That's not to say there aren't some very cool and awesome things out there. We just haven't discovered/invented them or haven't been there yet or haven't reached that time yet. Truth really is so much stranger than fiction. Determining what things mean is an automatic and necessary function of our physical survival. Even our physical mind will fill in missing information unconciously not to mention how we choose to conciously assign meaning to our experiences, existence, universe, etc. No magic to it all…life is just cool and awesome all by itself.
EklypzMemberYep, but easier to say it is just magik 🙂
RobyoParticipantI agree that stuff considered “magic” is probably just outside of our knowledge or perception. I mean, physicists have already proved there's up to 8 physical dimensions and I'd say there are probably infinite if we could only sense them…
However, I still like to think there is positive and negative in the universe, creating a unified whole. Basically, I view the the cosmos as a syncapated symphony and it flows from harmony to disharmony, creating tension and release, depending on the mood of the Master Conductor… 🙂

Disharmony, in my mind, is a very positive thing; chaos and what not. i think that Zen has a comes into play in alot of this. all things exist in “Mu” or nothingness, a balance, niether good nor evil, right nor wrong. any positive or negative actions come from an encrochment on this balance. some can become so imbalanced that they become…oh…let's say warmongers. there is always an underlying factor to everything they do. war is caused by greed, gredd is caused by a need for acceptance, a need for acceptance is caused by….these are merely examples, but what i guess i'm really getting at is that there's no right or wrong answer to any of this, everything is one tremendous circle, ever mutating yet ever staying constant.

I don't think of chaos as synonymous with disharmony. Chaos seems more like a quality similar to time or space. A factor of reality that is inexcapable. I generally eqate chaos with theories of entropy and fractals. Chaos has other meanings too.
…and that's another problem with philosophy. It's limited by language which is a poor medium to express raw ideas or emotion. Even a face to face conversation is only an analogy of thoughtforms.
Harmony and disharmony can actually be measured. Music can be divided up into it's constituent chords and calculated how harmonious it is. If you consider the 3:5 ratio as the pinnacle of order and beauty. It's the golden mean and the perfect 5th… And when you start to deviate from it you create disharmony, until you find another stable interval. Unison is the most perfect, but not the most beautiful. Or is it?
And you're right, Cringer, harmony and disharmony don't equate postive and negative, but maybe some similarities can be drawn. Yin/Yang is a cool concept, but it's limiting. Doesn't consider shades of grey.
Zen i don't know much about, but it's really intriguing. It must be a relaxing state. Like chanting Om Ah Whom…

good ol' nothingness! my favorite place to hang out at. Zen (inset thumbs up emoticon)!
