Blaize224MemberI dont think i'll be able to get everything I need together in time in order to have a workshop, I would love to, and I would definitely be up for doing it at a future event. The problem comes in making 30-50servings of noodles by hand, it is quite simple and easy but thats alot of dough to work, I should have planned it a bit better and made batches weekly, but this has all got me thinking and I would most definitely be down for doing this at a later gathering! hey maybe we can even talk about it next weekend. cheers.
Thanks for letting me know. I'll take you off the schedule for this event. Once things get going for Sacred Earth next year I'll start up a new workshop thread. If you feel up to it then just let me know and we can make the noodle workshop happen next year 🙂
Blaize224MemberI am so sorry but I was accepted into an art show last minute for the week after next and have to put all my energy towards that so I am not going to attend. Sorry for backing out on you! Everyone have a wonderful time I am sure it will be epic!
XO JeffzWell congratz to you my friend!! Have a wonderful time preparing for the art show 🙂 I'll miss you but I am very happy to hear things are going well for you in Des Moines. Hope to see you again sometime soon.
Blaize224MemberSo here's what I have so for:
12-1pm Dizolivemint – 1 hour energy and massage workshop BYO blanket/pad
1-2pm Jeff Z – 1 hour Harm reduction workshop/forum
2-3pm Usra Major – 1/2 hour noodle making demo. BYO veggies (I'll bring some plates/utensils)
3-4pm Endo – 1/2 hour or hour Slacklining 101Does anyone have any issues with this tentative schedule?
Blaize224MemberI haven't been to the site in a while since my move to Denver but I'd like to mention that I'll be bringing my slackline with me. Especially since I wasn't able to attend SEOA. If there is a good place to set it up, we can have an informal workshop on how to set up a slackline and how to get started on one.
That's great to hear 🙂 I'll slot a time for this in the schedule and hopefully we can use the volleyball court near party central to set up.
Blaize224MemberI should have a definite yes/no for you guys by this week, being self employed by fundage is rather random. But things are look good. 😀
Wonderful to hear. Just keep us posted and let me know if you have any questions or run into any isues
Blaize224MemberI can lead another harm reduction one, been getting busy so that will be easy instead of making something else up!
That would be great Jeff 🙂 What amount of time would you like alloted for the Harm Reduction discussion?
Well, I can do upto an hour and bring in stuff about the drug war and other things..
An hour sounds good to me. I'd imagine that once you begin your workshop people will have questions and discussion to share. So leaving extra time is never a bad thing. Hopefully we can get some interesting dialog going 🙂
Blaize224MemberYummmy….Noodles….drooool.
My partner and I are definitely up for leading an energy and massage workshop. I'm putting together some energy diagrams that will hopefully be ready in time. The workshop will be an hour long.
Great! I am definitely looking forward to learning and participating in the massage session 🙂 In the next week or so I'll be putting together a tentative schedule for the workshops. Will post it in this thread once I haev it together.

Blaize224MemberAwesome, I think this is great. Just keep us posted as your planning develops.
Blaize224MemberAre blacklights still needed? We have our two cannons that can be packed. . . our goal is to fit four people/camp gear and deco into one car for this one. If the lights aren't needed please let me know, would give us lots of extra room in the car for other deco 🙂 also going to try to pack in some fabrics/deco stuff to hang up.
Can't wait! We'll be coming down Saturday and staying till Monday
Blaize224Memberit would be cool to teach folks how to make their own noodles.
Is this something you would be interested in leading or a suggestion for a workshop you'd liek to participate in?
im very good at making noodles and I do it all the time, but idk if how well I would be at leading a workshop.
If you are interested in finding out just let me know. Would could try to figure out a way to make it happen 🙂
when would I need to make a commitment? by beginning of aug? There would be alot involved, lots of questions. How many people usually attend workshops? What time of day? I would need equipment; propane burners or something/Woks or stock pot, of which I have one giant wok/one big propane burner. Then the question of what to eat with it, I could make lots of stock and do some kind of delicious vegetarian thing, keeping it as simple as possible. Also not sure how it would work, would people only eat what they make, cause making noodles your first time generally doesn't work out haha. So I would assume I could make up a shit load ahead of time and keep em cool till whenever, then just dish em up to whomever wants any, wouldn't take much maintenance. How long are workshops? Alot of this would depend on who comes with me and what vehicle we take cause this would include lots of stuff naturally, make up a 5gallon bucket full of stock or sauce or something, not to mention noodle supplies, and veggies and what not. Or maybe ask people to bring fixings for what they want or something I'm not really sure. Ive never really taught anything, but I can only assume as long as the vibe is good and the energy is high, and people are having a good time I cant imagine it failing in anyway.
Workshop time is very open ended. I would say that if you could let me know if you're up to it or not by the first or second week of August that should be fine. As far as attendance goes it can very. I believe we have about 20-40 people attending most workshops at Sacred Earth this year. We usually try to hand out the workshop line up at the gate and let people know about them to get people interested. Workshops will be held between Noon-6pm on Saturday. How much time do you think you would need/want? 30 minutes . . and hour . . . I don't know how long it takes to make noodles :)?
If you'd like to share your noodles with everyone after the demonstration I think it would be a great idea to make them ahead of time. I'd stick to vegetarian if you're planning on sharing, that way anyone would be able to enjoy regardless of diet.
We can also put on the flyer that it's a BYOV – bring your own veggies workshop 🙂 I could supply paper plates and utensils if that helps. I also have a camp stove that runs on colemen campfuel if you will be needing additional cooking gear.
It's a really fun idea. I know last year at earth dance we had a few people do a workshop on how to make perservatives with fruits. They cooked up a batch and served it with breaed – I thought it was delicious 🙂
So yea, like I said, very open ended. Let me know if you have any other questions 🙂

Blaize224MemberI want to do something, lecture or discussion related…not sure what yet but will let you know soon as it pops in my my conscious.
I really enjoyed yours,Pauldo's and Leo's harm reduction workshop you lead a few years ago. I've always thought this is a good topic for discussion. If you're at all interested in leading a discussion like this again you'd get three thumbs up from me 🙂 Or if you're trying to come up with a new idea I'd love to hear your thoughts!
