psilopsybenParticipantI have a pc laptop and I have a back-lit keyboard. 😛 Really, you are not gonna have to do much “tinkering” with a new pc laptop. I didn't have to do any with mine. You are obviously more comfortable with windows, how much tinkering do you have to do on your current pc? That's probably the amount of tinkering you would have to do on a new one. I don't know what you are doing in the registry all the time Don, but I barely have to touch that thing besides running a cleaner every now and then. Screw the pc vs mac debate and just go check out some new laptops, mac and pc. whichever one you like better, buy it. (not the one these people say is better)

The more RAM, the smoother the laptop runs, the better processor, the faster the laptop runs. The bigger the number, the better. I've found that you should buy the biggest numbers you can afford and you shouldn't have any problems. It doesn't really matter if it's an apple or a pc. They both do the same thing. It's just user preference. I've used a pc exclusively for music since I started. I've used Andy's macbook pro as well. I can't see any difference between our two machines running ableton except he paid way more on his laptop then mine, and we have almost the same specs. (mine are a lil better) 😉

there is no service in the area, at least not covered by my provider so it would be kinda pointless to carry a phone with me the whole weekend…just to read the lineup 😛
my phone also doubles as a camera and a flashlight 😛

Also, of course Israel doesn't have our best interests in mind. Israel has Israels best interest in mind. I think our country should be more like that. Especially in time like these. Why are we still worrying about other countries getting along, and hemorrhaging “aid money” all over the world when our country seems to be coming apart at the seams? It makes no god damn sense.

psilopsybenParticipantyeah it should be possible for you to make a preset file. a .fxp is a .fxp, no matter what os you are running. I can see how you didn't think about the vst thing, cuz I run a pc and actually forget about au's altogether. I only get reminded of them because Andy has a mbp.
