He recently introduced bill HR 1768, which is similar to cash for clunkers program, except that the government would provide tax credits, rather than creating more debt/inflation to pay for it. Plus, his bill wouldn't neccessarily cause working old cars to be crushed. These are good ideas. It's really wasteful that they are destroying working cars. What is the environmental benefit of destroying working affordable cars to make new (foreign made) ones? What is the economic sense when it creates more debt for government and the consumers?
