  • Haha, I'm finally recovered from the party/3 days straight of no sleep/20 miles of walking along the freeway. What a great time! What an adventure! You guys did it again. Music was great well into the morning, so much that I was getting all muddy and soaked but still loving it. Can't wait to see you all at Field Trip!

It wasn't hung up, I (and several other people at various points) were wearing it as a scarf, which is how it ran off : /

What a weekend. Thanks to everyone involved for providing us with such fantastic music and culture. Sunday morning was absolutely mind-blowing, it was amazing to see so many people still going. The John B/Ireland/Jason Hoffman set on Saturday afternoon was another highlight. See you all on the 20th.

I misplaced a couple items. Has anyone found a clear/white frizbee with LEDs in it, or this tapestyhttp://www.spacetribe.com/shop/uv-sarong-aqua-fractal-p-1410.html?

Cosmosis “Psychedelica Melodica” // This album could just as easily be called “The Second Coming of 'Synergy'” because that's the last time Cosmosis kicked this much ass!  From the goa vibe of “Dance of the Cosmic Serpent” to the funky riffs of “Martian Blues”, Bill Halsey reminds me of what got me into this music in the first place : energy, mysticism and a genuine sense of fun.

Truth. The high end synths on that album morph, twist, and gurgle like a horny space-jellyfish. The basslines are equally destructive, his “less is more” approach leaves so much room for those mischievous, twittering high-ends to play around between beats. “Dance of the Cosmic Serpent” was on loop on my iPod for a good week or so. We have to keep it rockin' so no one comes a'knockin'!

Wish I could come, this looks stellar. Who's got a matter transporter to get me back to work in Minneapolis on Sunday?
Take lots and lots of pictures, and stop the bejeebers out of that floor.

Woo, that's the first weekend that I'll be both done with school and unemployed  8)

Have you tried Ananda Shake? They have a few guitar-infused tracks. Also, Cosmosis' new album “Psychedelica Melodica” has a few tracks with Flamenco-ish guitar.
But yeah, the good ones are usually buried in random compilations, as you noticed.

Wow. That was a very, very good time. My friends had dished out some high praise for Mindoutpsyde parties, but this was the first one I made it down from Minneapolis for. It was well worth the trek. The music was great all night long. The good doctors are masters of psychedelic funk, true pros. The sound system was on point, a testament to quality over quantity. I'd rather hear a clean, crisp system than one that rattles my teeth. You could hear the kicks pop the way psy kicks are supposed to, not thud, and the bass was crisp enough to easily separate the 16th-note stacatto blips. I've never seen such a packed floor at 8am, nor have I danced so much in one night. The energy was so overwhelmingly positive, more than I've ever seen in Minneapolis. Very nice venue and decor too (who do I talk to about buying one of those tapestries for my room, haha). I really wish I could have stayed for the second night, but the people I came with were exhausted and wanted to head back. I probably won't be able to make it to Iowa again for a few months, as I won't have a free Saturday again in a while, so I hope you all have some good stuff planned for summer.
Good meeting/seeing you all, keep up the good work!
    Leon
