damonMemberSo.. My question is in everyone's opinion, How soon during the day should dancier chill start up again? I think a majority of people sleep between 6 and 12-2pm or so. Most of the time at outdoor parties it is too hot to sleep much later than noon. So around 2 pm do you think it is ok to start with maybe slow prog, techno, breaks, etc to get people something to groove to if there is no trance stage? or is much later?
Toki and I played prog from 1-4pm at the chill stage in Iowa and people seemed to really dig it, even if they didn't dance much.
2 pm is a great time to start ramping it back up. I think it would best to do prog breaks -> prog house -> glitchy mininal -> ragga dubstep -> atmospheric DnB -> back to our regular programming
I WOULD like to see someone bust out the squarepusher though. There should be at least an hour or two where ALL the music is crazy and people are forced out of their bubbles for a second…
As far as how it relates to the main stage – I think it should provide a counterpoint to it. At least make sure the music styles are not similar…
I, personally, come to psytrance events to hear music that is not being played@clubs on daily basis and to escape from the music that is being played@clubs on daily basis.
Although I acknowledge there are people who will like house/minimal/techno or d'n'b on chill stage. I usually return to my camp …..

Yeah I'm very happy that I made that initial thread and this one came off it too. It seemed like a subject area that hadn't been discussed/thought of much. And like I said, OCD+being an engineer make me want to structure things 🙂

I would love to have both of em come some time. I'm a big fan of music that sounds different. Too much of psy follows a formula. My ADD needs variety.
