My first all psy event was at some sort of steel farm building in Iowa. I think it may have been MAGE?

All I know for sure is one DJ was way more awesome than the rest  asked the promoter who it was and was told it was Kaiser Soze…

Other than that, I used to religiously collect Dan Efex mixtapes all the way back to the beginning in 93'

Sounds like Scott and Dan were carrying the banner pretty early on in the midwest…

It would be cool to make a chronology of when goa tracks started originating. Was there a magic summer?  ;D

I dj'd Goa for a couple of years and didn't know many people into it. I knew parties happened on the coasts, but that was a bit far away.

Met DJ Storm from the 604 list and a small collective of us did basement parties around the midwest.. a friend threw a rave in detroit with a psy room at a Russian mafia chop shop.

Nice. First psy party was Audiognomes' Inhabited at that barn  ::).  I think my “This is amazing, I'm hooked” moment was when Igor was playing.

First loss of normal conciousness because of  :-X and psytrance happened at Metatronic 1.

First outdoor morning psy experience happened Sacred Earth.

Ah…memories.  Lets keep making great ones!

i went to several bangin psy parties in scott's basement back in the day 😉

i also put on a psytrance party in bloomington with the help of my ptlf buddies around 2002/2003-ish…

i started listening to 'psy' in high school, first the ozric tentacles then eat static…didn't hear “other” psytrance music until my freshman year of college (99/00) and it was all downhill from there…

    BANG-BANG!  ;D

…and Igor got free balloons because he could speak the language so they thought he was a mobster.  ;D

Other than the basements it might have been Astral Projection in Pitt.  Igor first played it for me on a cracked out car ride home from the D.  It caught my interest and I got a lot of good dance into it but jungle was still my main passion.  When I was re-awoken at Geologic in 2005 I got psy on a much deeper level than I had before.  Got a little more deeper understanding at AUM and then Reunion this year.  I have yet to find a bottom to it.

The people in the psy scene has been my number one reason for coming though.  It's the most intelligent, loving and accepting group of people I have ever met.  I was actually thinking about this today that if it wasn't for the people in the psyscene I would just stay home and dance to the music by myself.    I realized then that the people and music cannot be separated.  This kind of music would not be made by any other kind of people other than these kind of wonderfully twisted psy people.

Lol I am actually wearing a shirt from the first one right now 😀  That is where, after 8 years of trying, I finally was able to liquid dance. I am pretty sure Solomoon played there iirc.  My first ecstatic dance workshop I attended was there too. THey had a 30 foot long dreamcatcher there, good times!  There is even a review from me on their webpage, wow. http://www.krack.org/v4/events/dreamfest/

Nate: that was most likley mage 2 if there were a lot of people, mage 1 if there were around 90 people 😀

Aaah, let me remember. I used to be pretty much hardcore heavy metal dude headbanging my neck off every weekend and getting drunk the fuck out of myself. There used to be good outdorr psy parties in my cities at that time and my friend used to go to them. Too bad they were all night events so I couldnt go to those parties due to parental restrictions (yes, I am from India so you can expect that).

My friend out that the music is called Goa and they have some awesome parties in Goa during new year. So me and him went up there on the context that we would be visiting the beaches. Once there, went to an ultra underground party right in bang of middle of a jungle. Did my first roll and tripped the balls out and then rest is history. I think it was the drugs then the music that got me in but now its just the music. Alternated between heavy metal and psy when I was in India but once I came to US for my education and started going to MoP parties, I dont think I can listen to anything else.

After that, got 2 of my cousins and both my roommates into psy and just loving it 🙂

It was NOT crowded. I remember walking around outside looking up at the sky and seeing a shit ton of UFO's. I think 90 people might be an overstatement.

If it was your party, THANK YOU.
