wow!  another great night presented to us by the mindoutpsyde crew.  while this event didnt have near the turnout as the previous events, i couldnt have been happier.  some regular faces were missing, but it gave me a chance to sit down and talk to some of you that ive been meaning to.

the cops showing up wasnt much of a shocker, but you never really want to see anyone get hauled away in cuffs.  not to mention, the bastards gave me a parking ticket.  i think that the bomb of bad vibes brought in by the two boys in blue, might have been the reason the party cleared out a little early, but i was happy regardless

special thanks goes out to sensitive g (geal/adam) for ensuing hilarity and lord of the rings quotes.  oh and thanks for letting us use your mixer!

shouts to my brother from a different mother, nick…..i couldnt have been happier with our set!  i only wish we had MORE time to play!

special thanks to katy for the records, and chris for always being such a generous host at afties….even if he has to listen to “our version of morning”  lol.

thanks to scott for saving our ASSES with the powerstrip!

and a final thanks to………your mom!  whom without, we wouldnt have had endless hours of jokes

honestly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone for coming, and thanks to all those who supported past events as well. it feels so great to wander into a blacklight-flooded room and notice particular faces and articles of clothing you associate with special friends of yours. seeing the out of state family we have made come and celebrate life in our small state of Iowa has given me such motivation in school and life, i really hope that all of our relationships continue to grow and solidify. I cannot wait for the warm weather, as we will all be able to gather in the beautiful forests and fields of Wisconsin and Illinois. Thank you all for the support, and cannot wait to see you soon.

P.S: Scott, thanks for letting us use the panel i will take special care of it 🙂
Thanks Nate for the lasers, wouldnt have been as nutty without them!
Thanks for all the help and support everyone. We are one through the music.

the police came in two separate times…. one at the usual 2oclockish, the other time being the absolute latest ive ever witnessed… sometime after 5:30am… after Random's set we (Random, 2 friends Jason and Nick, and I) proceeded to the back of the mainstage room to smoke a bowl… we didnt go to the backroom because there were too many people going in and out of there it seemed.

the cops came in and came straight back to us where we had just finished smoking and began hastling us about empty beer cans that were within our 10foot reach…. eventually concluding that the 18year old (the youngest) of our group of 4 must have been up to “no good” seeing as this party setting was not the place for someone of his age… WTF. I got up and answered one of the cops questions pertaining to the beer cans as an excuse to wander off without suspicion, and i believe Random did the same shortly after, but the two remaining younger attendees Jason and Nick were eventually caught holding, or sitting just next to the pipe we had been using… both ended up getting arrested for the pipe. it was just sad to see two young men who are hardcore psy fans, planning to stay until the party ended, getting taken out by cops at like 5:30 or 6am.

really sad, but we all live on and i hope they will be able to make it to future gatherings. think if Random had gotten arrested 🙁 stupid cops.

there were no police problems.  i dont even know why this is what people are talking about regarding this party.  it was a great time, with a great vibe.  in the future stick to the vip room people like your supposed to and this wont happen.  otherwise everything went swimmingly…  thanks to everyone that made this night so incredible 🙂

wow way to sympathize with the poor souls who got nailed at our party… but yeah the police were not, and are not a problem, but certain measures can be taken to dramatically reduce their effect on a party. for example, locking the door after 3am. in the future, i strongly recommend that we include this on our “list of things to do” because no matter who i told, since it wasnt the venue owner, it never got done. Cops nor attendees should be able to freely waltz into our building at 6am. Secondly, the VIP room is not a VIP room unless there are VIPs and their guests in there. i am the master of regulating that room, because i, just as much as anyone, truly appreciates a safe and quiet place to smoke with friends and out of state family. but i have witnessed no help in this department, as everytime i would waltz back there, there was 10-15 people hanging out, usually 10 or so without name tags. its hard to completely regulate a VIP room seeing as people need to get back and take care of business and what not, but not when you have 3 MOS members attemptin to do so. countless times i had to usher people out, apologizing to them because they didnt have a name tag, just to make sure that people were getting the msg. hope i get more help spreading this message in the future, as we are lucky there was not high traffic through the VIP room when the police came.

Other than that momentary glitch, this party was nutty! Id say we worked harder on the mainroom Deco for this party than any other party, since we got there earlier to set up, left later, and had less people helping. Random's set completely annihilated, i really like how all his songs tell stories when they are separated and on a CD that demands some mystery…. but when hes stringing together live layers of sound, he really just slams it in your face! It was like a non-stop roller coaster ride with no humps only drops 🙂 Constant builds and pounding bass over such neo-goa and beautiful melodies, at times i didnt know whether to call it dark or full on, or just plain crazy. So awesome havin two ladies rock out as well. KT really has a natural way of getting into the music, and she seems to dance for herself rather than for the amusement of the crowd which was awesome. it made me feel like noone had an excuse not to dance 🙂 Lauryn was also awesome, although most of my positive feedback has already gone to KT and Random.

For all you morning lovers who missed the party… you definitely missed out! This was the least-dark party i think weve done so far, in my opinion, because of KTs great mood setting power-set at 11-12 and then Randoms awesome way of tying beautiful melodies into such solid basslines…. he got very melodic during his last hour. This led right into Chris's set, who we all know is well capable of throwing it down hard, which consisted of very layered, energetic but soft morning tracks. Soft in bass, meaning you didnt feel like you were getting slammed wall to wall, but powerful in a way that kept your legs humming all the way through the set. the set had great progression into the morning morning, which i figured worth mentioning since many of us have only experienced Chris's wrath around 11pm or so haha. Followed by Geals beautiful full-on style, this was definitely the most melody i have heard so far at one of our events. Nick and Nick (Hurt Vs Aktif) was quite the spectacle, as we all know how these two blend oh-so-well together, although i have to say at that point of the evening i wasnt able to fully get down to the craziness. I was hoping there was more power involved at the beginning, rather than the darkness, but their quality selection of dark tracks had me not caring after 10 minutes. simply outstanding track selection from those 2.

i missed certain people's company at this event, was disappointed to see so many less familiar faces, but the music and the vibe that was set had me forgetting about that really fast. this was an awesome event, filled with awesome people, who really helped us provide some 1st-time-psy-experiencers to really feel the vibe and connect to the music. Hope we can do it again on the 31st, will keep in touch!

Wow, what a raaaaager.  True the #'s weren't the same as previous events, but those in attendance made up for it with their pure energy.  Most of what i have to say has already been said, so to avoid sounding redundant, i'll just throw out a few additional notes:
-Great line-up by the MindOutPsyde crew.  I know i told this to several of the members while at the party, but each party you guys throw has such a unique feel of music.  KT's set following some of the darker madness from Nick & Nick was a treat.  It wasn't just dark-dark-dark till morning.  Way to keep things fresh.
-To whomever decided to put Baraka on the screen during Lauryn's set, KUDOS!  I thought it was awesome.  Particularily, I felt the images of tribesmen chanting, shaking, and raising their hands in praise really coincided with the music AND the theme of the party….verrrrry cool.
-Lastly, thank you to the entire MindOutPsyde crew for all of your hard work and also letting me get down with both a night time and morning set…it was a pleasure!

Hope to see everybody again on the 31st!

    Cheers
