Can you tell more about this concept Derek?

I thought the blacklight reflective trees were awesome!  🙂

The theme was that Derek and Carli drink a lot (I pointed out the number of beer boxes relative to other trash to Derek) :D.

    Hehehehehehe
The idea was to make the DJ booth a pile of garbage with burning trees and a UV explosion in the background. Sorta like a post-apocalyptic theme. There were 4 ft tall volcanos spewing red light in the back of the room, too.

Carli and I were saving trash for weeks and we ended up with WAY more beer boxes than other trash because yea… we drink a lot. (several people commented on this to me actually, lol) The trees turned into more like… bushes; more powerful fans would have been needed to make them taller… like $40 wind machines as opposed to the $12 box fans we bought. The explosion tapestry didn't end up exactly how I wanted it either. I'll probably paint a peripheral motion illusion on the background of it eventually and add some more layers of fire 🙂

All in all it worked out OK
I don't think it quite reached Zoolander Derelict campaign level  😉

    Wonderful party yall!

Great venue + quality ppl + good deco

I really enjoyed the mix of industrial/electro on second stage with Trance main stage.
Gnomes of Destruction did an amazing job of playing reallly hard/fast psy w/o being full-on head-throbbing.  Difficult line to maintain.  The did it brilliantly.

Glad I got to play; this was my favorite performance of the year.  Thanks to all participants!!!  That means you!!

    see ya as SEOA!

i feel bad now for leaving you out of my review, Mason —

Your visuals were top-notch, and i couldn't really believe that you ran them all night long.  It was absolutely amazing having you out.  It would be great to have you back at the next one we do there.

Thanks again for coming out on a whim and for holding it down.  It was also nice being able to talk to you for a bit.  next time, we'll have a camera or two ready for the entire night.

    🙂

Ooooh yeah the camera on Adam with Fx was sweet.  When Justin was walking around with it I couldn't stop laughing, especially when he had it on someone passed out on the couch.  😀

Does anyone know where the basket of fortune cookies that was part of the art exhibit would be?  The owner of the exhibit is rightfully upset because it is missing, and it part of a project.

I originally saw it on one of the pillars, but it was moved and never put back.  I have checked against the things that we packed out and it is not with me.

Please post back if you have info — this is important.

I'll double check tonight when we unpack our car… but I'm 99.9% sure I never even saw it

Where was that at?  I remember there was a fortune cookie stapled to the wall, but didn't see a basket of em anywhere.

they were attached to one of the pillars, then subsequently moved to one of the corners of the room (or at least i have been told) —

The artist that this belongs to is requesting its return… I hope I don't have to bring bad news to them…
