Soooo..I finally got to spin and realize my dream from a long time in a small get together in Minneapolis 😀 😉 ;D 🙂 I am always ending up in places where people have a dislike for everything Psy but I can confidently say that after tonight some of the 30 odd people who got to listen to my set left with a pleasant liking for the music genre..   😮 ;D

I have been practicing on traktor at home for a long time and felt that I would be comfortable spinning in front of a crowd..atleast thats what I felt before the time actually came. What happened although and what I have realized after spinning is that your brain is on a very different state while spinning that is very different from the state of mind of a dancer which is what I have always been. You enjoy spinning (or atleast I hope people who spin do) by seeing people listen to music that makes them sit up and take notice, but there are multiple thoughts going through ur head. A dancer's mind is much more relaxed than a Djs and I was multi-tasking constantly, looking at the reactions of the people around me and dancing, gauging what the next track that would go well with the previous one and adjusting the eq's so that the track playing sounded good to my satisfaction. I was also a little shaky with my hands trembling for a bit before I got a handle on my state of mind and calmed them down..lol..what an experience 😀

From the time I got into psy in the USA (which is not a long time ago (Geologic July 2005), I got the urge to get on the mixer and play some of the tracks that I feel would be a good fit for the timeslot  :P(a lot of djs I have spoken to in the recent past would know what I am talking about. ) Well, today I finally got to play the tracks that I liked to a certain extent ..because in the back of my mind, I also wanted to please the people who were listening to the music. That said, I played a variety of tracks from various artists and different feels, from the Mahadeva -Samadhi remix track (which has a special place in my heart since it is the first psy track that I loved) that was my opening track for pleasing the gods and requesting for their blessings, to some Etnica, some Khetzal, some Xerox, some Electrypnose and some MFG..I think I gave the people actually listening to the music a short journey through their mind and hope that they had some psychedelic thoughts during my set.

All in all, I am happy that I got some good feedback from the crowd and hope that with the blessings of God and the good wishes of my friends, I will be able to do this in the future and lead the dancers into a journey in their minds 🙂 where they feel Vital, Re-energized and optimistic about their life. Thanks to all the people who have given me encouragement ..I hope to improve with every set and will try to keep true to my instincts 🙂
I am focussing more on track selection and maintaining the smooth flow of music ..didnt do any super star dj Trikkx as Kaiser calls them so as to
not mess the mix..but all in good time:)!!

Yeah, what a bunch of jaded pricks though. I swear, my son's nanny, she lives on Lake George, and she was walking through the park and saw this party and nobody was friendly to her and someone said she'd have to leave. Oh well! I'm probably moving up there to live on her lake home, her cousin's husband is an organic farmer, laid back, chill kind of guy. I was thinking of working on the farm with him haha.  Gerpa, pretty funny I read this now after hearing her bitch about it for the past couple of days. =]

Anyways, cool anand. Hope it was fun. That beach up there is phat, for father's day, I took my son to that beach with all the local Oak Grove hippy fathers and had a great time. But man, minnesotan party goers need to be more inviting. And that is why I stay away from our scene :-/

Cause wherever I go in Minnesota, I'm just an asshole. Minnesota NICE? WTF?!  HEEHEE

Hope all is well everyone. Damon has less than 72 hours to buy my entire record collection for too good of a price that it's like he's robbing me 🙂 but I'm in need of money so the music must go 🙁 unfortunately.

Although, in all honesty, I'd rather not have random kids at an event. She was there for at least two hours and I saw her talking to plenty of people.

Maybe you should go to a party everyonce in a while if you are going to talk shit about the parties you don't go to.

publicity from last time..This time it will be much harder to get the same result with a larger audience
