oh hell yes – the weather was perfect for the experience. sitting on the back of the stage listening to the rain softly falling on the tin roof and getting taken through all sorts of internal states by your music was definitely one of the highlights of the festival for me 🙂

I couldn't get there until dusk on Saturday so I missed some but what I caught we well worth the effort! At anything on this scale there had to be problems but they weren't apparent and nothing that interfered with the experience.  Great job folks!
The venue was so much better than expected. Good choice. In spite of the amazingly healthy insect population, some of whom apparently took offense at my being there and a few who came home with us. If there's another event there I'd get there earlier and make good use of the lake etc.
The music…what can you say…not enough. DJ's I've heard before outdid themselves. Other's just blew me away. Too many musical moments to comment on. At both stages. My feet are still sore. many tranced times.
Festival moments…hot sweaty afternoon falling out at the campsite with the most appropriate and unexpected mix of reggae dubs floating in the air…quotes from Chomsky (yeah!!!) and Leary (oh yeah!!!)…Sunday late morning with some mellow psy sounds floating over the lake as people play in the water and birds flying and singing along the shore… nice fire…and that incredible jam in the early morning hours
And the video was incredible! Most of it well exceeded anything I've seen in the clubs.
everyone was friendly and cool regardless of style or ages which looked to be about 6 months to 60 years. Very cool scene.

just to keep everything in one place, here's comments from Don on a list…

so i went up to wisconsin for the chilluminati festival 'sacred earth
open air' and, as seems to be the standard up in the midwest, i had a
fucking excellent time. from the small details (flush toilets!!!) to
the larger ones (actually scheduling djs so there is a degree of
'flow' all through the weekend rather than just a competition of
“who's the biggest rockstar”) everything worked out very well.

i really have no complaints about this festival…even the rain worked
its way into the schedule pretty well, coming and going during an
excellent daytime ambient set by kourosh dini – really one of my
favorite things about the fest was that they actually stopped playing
trance during the day and gave us some different rhythmic structures
to work with courtesy of kourosh, kilowatts (wonderful sunshine
glitchy music), and variety of other chill heads (i even got to play
dub in the sun right before the rain came…)

the energy in the midwest is pretty incredible…the psy scene is
still fairly new/underground there, so folks are still falling in love
with it and you can definitely tell on the dancefloor and in
conversation – nobody bitching about the sound system (just about the
police making us turn it down), or the music being too fluffy/dark, or
somebody not playing exactly the right sub-sub-genre to line up with
their tastes. i strongly recommend to any of the jaded coast-dwellers
coming to the center to see how much people get into it…

Was it Kurosh that had that awesome ender…the guy with the guitar where there was this penetrating vocal….this I absolutely must know, I want to end a set I'm playing on the 9th with it as a tribute.  The vocal line went:

“The time for war has come to an end………….the time for war has come to an end….” and it went on.  I brought lots of tears, it was gorgeous.  Please, if anyone knows this please let me know.
