HARDKORNATEMemberNot sure where the hell you were going but acid techno has always been strong in the midwest, you would prolly have to leave chicago though. Chicago has always been house/jungle unless you dug deep.
I didn't know it's sooo housey ;D
Um, they invented house music…
Minneapolis and Milwaukee have always been about the acid though. Drop Bass + Woody McBride = win.

Yo smartass 🙂
I was thinking Chicago will be like any other BIG city in Europe (London, Amsterdam, Berlin etc.) or NYC: all different genres will be present in local clubs. We were lucky cause we like good music so we enjoyed hard techno/d'n'b/house/world music djs/artists that were coming to Chicago.
PauldoMemberstrong psytrance/acid techno/nrg scene (I guess I missed it hehe).
NRG!? ::) ;D
EklypzMemberActually, they used to do some happy hardcore / nrg parties up in Chitown BITD. Matt Positive and crew.
Sudo Make InstallKeymasterabout SF3…

Um, in general, any time you tack the “UK” in front of a genre it means you are refering to the cheesy crappy version.
Reference UK hard house or UK Speed garage for examples of said crappiness.
PauldoMemberhehe…glad you said what I was thinking Nate. except for UK jungle which is where jungle was born

Um US hard house and US nrg is the crappiest anyway ….

NRG is bad no matter what – its music thats always at 10, has no ups and downs…
UK Hard house is HORRIBLE.

Are you familiar with labels like Tinrib, Chug'N'Bump, Kaktai, Honey Pot etc. and stuff theye were releasing in late 90s?
UK Hard house is HORRIBLE.
1st releases weren't that bad … later the whole subgenre went down straight to toilet 🙂

I'm not generally familiar with labels for styles I think are crap. I have no idea about electro-house, either…
famiableMemberWhat an experience!! Perfect kickoff for a very exiting summer! ;D
Big thanks to the Chilluminati for this event. Thanks to Trancepsyndicate for the dicovery of the venue and that sound! Oh the Sound! 100,000 watts of pure sonic nectar. Havnt heard an outdoor system with such range clarity. Gutwrenchingly loud but you could still have a chat with someone on the floor and hear every word! Thanks to the deco team…
The sun tapestry on the left was wonderful!
