Thanks everyone for coming together !! I love community , it is what brings me to an event. Where there is love in a community you bet I will be there, and the love of the Chilluminati events is always present!  I was mostly a chill area bum this weekend but really dug Basilisk's set. It was nice to have a progression starting from basically linear sounds and layering it up to psy trance, very well done!

Friday night went to bed early to get up for workshops so missed most everyone but it was well worth it as we had the most workshop presence yet! Everyone was absolutely stellar and thanks so much for stepping up to lead workshops, it means the world to me to have participation in an area that I think is very important. So many people thank me for running them but really it is the teachers who are the true stars, I just beg real well 🙂 Especially thank Pauldo and Leo for the 'play smart' workshop, i think that we may have saved some people's lives literally there and I have been waiting a long time to go on my “tell no names” rant so was glad to have the time to do it 🙂 Would teach with you guys any day!

I think next workshop day will try and track down a microphone though since we have so many people attending now, adding to my mental list but feel free to remind me!!

Wow, what a great festival.  One of the most relaxing times in my life.  Brought some newbs and they are sold on returning for ED.  Great job on the workshops, so glad I did one.  I highly recommend to anyone to step up and lead a workshop.  Leo did a great job stepping up for his workshop.  He's becoming a leader in our community.  Mubali and Ooze were my music focus and they scratched my dancing itch something fierce.  My thanks for all of the love, compassion, acceptance, laughs and joy you have all given me over the years.  See you all at ED.

rocked hard to Bird of Prey's set,

slept,
woke up,

had a bunch of fun spinning,

dozed to the tech prog vinyl set Sat. afternoon…also great stuff,

finally got to hear Ooze's swamp trance,

loved Machi's set, and Kaiser's goa set!

All in all, wished I could have caught more of the music and talked to more people, but I had a blast anyway.  Thanks to Liz for all the freaking fruit and food, to Derek and Adam for all the compliments about my set, Toki for getting me the hell there, and Torin for being an awesome guest to have around in the midwest.  And of course, thanks Chilluminati!  Love you guys. 😉

Best weekend ever. I had too much “sassy sauce” (read=booze) so it was a little crazy for me.
But, I danced harder than I've ever danced before. Mubali blew my mind, and Nate was so cheesy it was almost hhc?  😉
Every set I caught was amazing. the weather was amazing. EVERYONE THERE was amazing.

I also want to say a big thank you to everyone who made an effort to help create this wonderful event. I believe that life is what you make of it, and together we are all making positive changes in so many people's lives. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to contribute to the Chilluminati. I am inspired by the amount of energy and dedication from both Chilluminati members as well as event goers. I think that by encouraging active participation in our events we help to open the world of active living ~ consciously moving your life into positive realities. Last weekend's memories will help to warm my soul for many, many moons.

Congratulations and thank you to all the music performers!! As Derek stated, I think that our events are doing a great job cycling the energy and intensity opposite the rise and fall of the sun. The progression of music throughout the entire event was spot on! It takes a lot of thought out planning and integration to coordinate such a feat, you all rocked it  😉 Derby ~ your music selection is soooo fantastic and weird. Collision, Aktif, Energon, Ascension, Scatter, Ekoplex, Machi, Scott, Optic Mind, Robyo . . . awesome sets all, wish I could have caught everyone!

Vendors ~ it's fantastic to have you guys around. I think that you all really contribute to the 'village' vibe of the event. Thank you guys for helping to create such a wondrous space; full of fashion, beauty, and comfort. Yay for live screen printing!!!! Soo impressed by the skill you guys have developed and made your own. Thank you Smoker's Den for yet another hookalicious event  ;D

I think that the dancefloor Sunday morning was my favorite part of the event. So much energy and enthusiasm, I could feel it from across the field. I walked down to the psy stage after a good night's sleep and was like 'YES!!!!!!' This is simply the best way to wake up ever!!!!!!!!

I love you all and thank you for being a part of the evolution we are creating.

Blue and I had a really great time at this festival. It was my first Chilluminati party in 3 years and it was great to be back at NCN. For Blue, it was her first introduction to the psy scene here in the States and she finally found what she was looking for. We both needed just this to restore our faith in the underground EDM scene after all the disappointments we had with Chicago “parties” that got consistently busted and that drug-infected clusterfuck that was the cave-rave last year.

The vibe was great and it reminded Blue of the early days of the Brazilian psy scene. Lots of good people, friendly smiles, lack of judgment of how people look or dance, everyone having a good time and doing their own thing. That is something that's very rare to find there nowadays, it's just way too big and too commercial for its own good. Sure, they have all the big headliners and the production is just insane, but the vibe is not there. And that's a lot more important than the other things. So everyone should really appreciate and treasure what we have going here.

As far as the music. We didn't really enjoy the main stage on Friday evening. Some good tracks were played (and some cheese that was almost good because it was so bad….almost), but the overall flow of the sets just wasn't really there and some transitions were pretty rough, which was a bummer. Whoever was playing dubstep on the chill stage (Nod?) was great and I really enjoyed most of what he played. I was looking forward to hearing Progress, but we were just too pooped out and ended up crashing around 1 (yes, we are old and boring).

Saturday morning we just hung out by the main stage, with Blue selling her things. It was nice to hear some groovy prog for a few hours (Strooya and Scatter?) and I was happy to hear AKD being played, who I think are very under-rated. Even if it was the same track…. being played twice in a half-an-hour span. Don't you guys listen to what's being played before you?  😛 It's a great track, though, so it was more than fine with me.

Primordial Ooze's first slow set was great. Pretty unique stuff and something that not a whole lot of people are doing. Then came Basilisk and for me that was the best set of the whole fest. He's a very talented dj and it was almost a flawless transition from slow techy stuff to nighttime psy. And he played lots of stuff that I love so much… Perfect Stranger, Sensient, KoxBox, etc. It was pretty inspiring and I ended up busting out the white gas and spinning some fire (something I haven't done in almost 2 years and it was a great feeling). Then came Mubali. Between the occasional problems with sound and the frequent use of glitch fx, I just couldn't really get into his set. Greg, man, I like your music and it was really good to meet  you and chat with you, but every time I would start grooving and trancing out to your tunes, you'd violently yank me out of it and totally kill it for me. Now, this is just my personal preference, but I know lots of people love that stuff and that's fine (shit, I love my glitches too…just not in my trance, generally). I think you just did it way too often and a lot of times it was pretty sloppy.

I was really looking forward to hearing PO's faster set and Ekoplex, but just didn't have energy to keep going, so we ended up crashing towards the end of Mubali's set. But whatever I heard between 3 and 9, while I was slipping in and out of sleep sounded really good.

Sunday morning was…AWESOME. I'm not really such a huge fan of either melodic morning trance or goa, but sometimes it just hits the spot. And this was one of those times. Derby, Machi, and Scott did a really good job of making me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, while the sun was shining and people were smiling and shaking their asses. What a way to end this fest.

Sadly, I missed pretty much all chill sets. I caught the last 3 workshops and they were very enjoyable. Particularly the one Basilisk did on Ektoplazm/Net labels/MP3s. Alexander, it was really good to meet you and thanks again for doing what you do.

The Giving Tree was a really great idea.

And I didn't really think the decos were lacking at either stages, considering the scale of this event. The chill stage looked great.

Overall, we had a really great time and it was really awesome to meet so many nice people. For me, it was especially fun to meet my Ukranian brothers Yuriy (Progress) and Igor (Sot) … and to find out how generic we really are.  ;D

Thanks to everyone who was involved with this. You guys did a great job.

This event was absolutely life-affirming. It embodied everything I love about the world, and everything I love about my life. During Mubali's set Saturday night, I experienced very concretely the realization that I have found my place in life, and it IS on the dance floor at a psytrance party, stomping with our beautiful community. I would travel any distance, go to any length, and overcome any obstacles to be there. I live for this.

Everything was pretty much perfect. The chill stage deco was WONDERFUL, especially the spandex layout. Paka Paka rocked it, and it was great finally meeting Reuben in person.

MUBALI, EKOPLEX, the Ooze, Derby's weirdo morning goa set, Bird of Prey, TOKI's chill set, Tatnall and Berzowski… damn it, everything was so good! All the acts I saw were astounding and psychedelic.

The laser added alot to the mainstage. I loved it during Mubali's set especially.

I didn't get to catch nearly as many workshops as I wanted to, including coming to the production workshop at 8PM sharp thinking that's when it started and seeing it vacant. RATS!

Abe's workshop was wonderful as well, very positive perspectives. Great job spreading the love and light. 🙂

Leading the Play Safe workshop was AMAZING, absolutely magical for me. Truly, moments I will never forget.  People were really eager to learn. It was so encouraging to me, and it showed me that even though it gets rough sometimes, I need to continue to go out of my way to inform people and spread the message of harm reduction.

We got a great turnout, thanks to anyone who attended! I really put my heart into it, and I know Pauldo and JeffZ did too, both their respective contributions were awesome and extremely informative. It is just so beautiful, seeing clearly that there are many people in the community who care about this issue that's more or less on my mind every day of my life.

It was just great hanging out with everyone, I don't get to see the psy familia nearly as often as I'd like.

To be honest, I have so many thoughts about this weekend that I could write an essay. The point is that I love you all. You have changed my life, and I don't know what I would be doing in my free time without you. Thank you thank you thank you thank you. <3 I look forward to contributing to this community for as long as I possibly can.

I had such an amazing time with you guys this past weekend. I really missed all of you and it was great to connect again.

I want to apologize for my set on Saturday. A lot of the errors were user error and not computer error. I will make it a point to not use the glitchy fx that I had set up that much anymore. It's meant to be a little bit of spice on the greater whole of the set, yet I completely overused it. There were also several silly errors I made that caused the sound to drop out several times. As a whole, since I changed the format of my set, that was my poorest performance, and for that I am truly sorry. I only hope that I will have an opportunity to redeem myself. Hopefully in MN this summer at Field Trip.
A big thank you to all the cats and kittens, and hopefully we'll get another chance to hang out again.

Intergalactoid (one of the best morning sets I've ever heard, can't wait for more releases)

Primordial Ooze (every time I hear a set from you guys, your sound has evolved to a great extent. Impressive.)

i didn't say you played the same track twice.  i meant to say that either someone before or after you (sorry, i don't know who's who and don't remember the times) played the same track. i just re-read what i wrote before and it looks like some words didn't get typed out (stupid brain/fingers and connection thereof  🙂 ) like i said, no biggie, it's a good track and i'm happy you played it. it was just kind of funny… “oh, hell yeah, an AKD track.” and then 20 minutes later…. “oh, hell yeah, the… same AKD track?”   🙂   that whole album is great.
