The first two housey tracks of his were kinda bleh, but Evan stepped it up several notches with what followed.  Totally out-of-the-blue style shift.  Looking forward to his pending collaborations with cellist Rena.  Damon and I were dorky and got him to sign our copies of “Sines And Singularities.”

Was very impressed with Chris Widman's set.  Was dubious based on the material from ConnexionisMix, but I wound up loving the stuff he played.  Nice guy, too.  Very knowledgeable and approachable.

Init String — Was somewhat disenchanted by the muddiness and leveling of their tracks.  There didn't appear to be a great deal of new material since their last appearance at Vision, which would make sense because it was so recent.  This performance, like the 2nd Infected Mushroom show at Soundbar, seemed redundant.

Cap'n Soze rocked it hardest, I have to say.  Highlights for me would have to be the Wizzy Noise and Gappeq tracks he played.  Good to hear these on a big system.

Kudos to Psymbolic for their airtight organization skills and imagery.  The new material I saw looked great.

Other points of interest / contention :
-Dan Efex and his wife Becky were making the rounds, along with their friend J. Scott G. (1/2 of Deepsky!)

-SPUNN — Their perfomances were stunning, as usual, but did they have to happen in the middle of the already-packed dancefloor?  Raised stage performances *behind* the live acts (ala GeoLogic) would have made more sense.  When placed in front, they drew too much focus away from the musicians and ate up valuable floor real estate.

-Creox (Sameer from Audiognomes) showed up at the zero-hour and cranked the energy up to 11…largely thanks to alchohol.  What a nut…he wouldn't stop hugging people.  If you're reading, Sameer, I hope you got the hangover of your life as penance for the driving debacle you put me, Toki and Robyo through on the way out of Chicago.

-MikeyLaz has a big fucking piano.  <---not a euphemism -Toki has a big fucking piano. <--- a euphemism -Underfoot is a square, married eunuch, and S.O.T. is the man.
PRETTY CLUB WAITRESS : Any of you guys care for shots?
UNDERFOOT (presumptously speaking on behalf of group) : Naaaah, no thank you.
S.O.T. (noticing curly blonde locks and teased eyelashes) : Now hold on there…

-Julee of Psymbolic has dreaded piggy tails now!

-No Varun?!?!  We missed ya, buddy!

-Ooohhh…and if anyone has any fun stories to share about the spppoooooookkkky, haaaaauuuuunnnnteeeed dance club, please respond to this thead…

I left early (as usual :). so couldn't hear what they played. I was also wondering if they will play same stuff or something new (I'm not a fan of their late 90s sound).

I think they did a great job bringing people's attention to main floor which WASN'T packed at all 🙂 And once finished they IMMIDIATELLY started dancing in front of stage forcing most of spectators to join them 🙂

His flight got canceled. Won't be back in Chicago till Tuesday night.

Um…are we talking about the same place?  The dancefloor was pretty full up, Damon.  Enough to where it was irritating to see SPUNN taking up a third of it.  <---jaded

You haven't seen that place packed Paul (it's packed when You can't move down there, all ballconies are full, room between Vision Sky and Excalibur's main floor is packed and there are lines to the bathrooms – let's say about 2500 people when Tiesto or AvB are spinning) – so do not argue with me please 🙂

And I'm not trying to spread bad publicity about this event. I was nicely surprised that so many people showed up at the end of Evan's set 🙂

Damon likes it when it is really packed and he has NO CHOICE but to rub up against everybody there.  ;D He rides the Tokyo subway just for kicks.

          Hello People!!

Its been a while since I have come out of hibernation and I have been contemplating about writing something on the forum to let people know that I am still alive!! things are finally falling into place after a period of unstability which no one prefers!!

I have moved to Atlanta for a new position and hence was not able to come down for the saturday party..I went to the Asheville NYE gathering which was lovely and got to meet some nice people there..Atlanta also has a growing trance tribe and they have a gathering coming up on the 21st which coincidently is also my Bday!! I was overjoyed to see that they had chosen that date so now I dont have to throw a party for myself..!!lol.. looking forward to attending it and meeting some new people here.

The good thing about Atlanta is that the weather is great!! the winter here is the spring in milwaukee or chicago and people overdress in really funny ways 🙂 Nice to hear that the Vision party went off well and hope that I will be abe to come to some of the future ones time permitting..Give me a jingle if anyone decides to come down this side !!:)

Well LAH-DEE-DAH!  Mr. Aggro!  All I'm saying is that I prefer all the space on the dancefloor I can get.  Performers like SPUNN have their place : large, outdoor areas.  Indoors they only make things congested.

            Jump down my throat, whydon'tcha?

No offence but SPUNN is MUCH MORE INTERESTING TO WATCH than small stinky sweaty gnome jumping around  😛 😛 😛 😛 😛  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
            But seriously – You could dance on stage  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
