Was considering starting something new in this city. Free parties with local djs (at the beginning), bringing out-of-midwest talent later if people would show interest …
 
1st option: Saturday (8ish pm till 2:30am, 2 rooms)
2nd option: Thursday (9pm till 2:00am, 1 room)

I know the lenght of the event is the biggest problem here. But there's no real alternative imho at this moment here in Chicago.

What do you guys think?

Awesome idea.  No reason not to do it on Saturday since you'll be able to get higher attendance.  I'm also sure people who don't live in the city would love to come out too, and they'd most likely need it to be the weekend as well.

I would definitely be down for attending and spinning. I may not be able to help organize/work at every single event but I'd give it my best shot. My work schedule gets funky sometimes…usually Sat works best for me as well.

Actually, we (Rendezvous) and Radiohiro are supposed to be starting a monthly event @ Darkroom sometime in the near future. I think a conflict should be avoided at all costs, but I don't have the specifics right this second. I :-[
