I may have access this winter to a site that is large enough to do art all weekend, sleep over, and kitchen.  Would there be any interest to get together and make deco and share different techniques?

it's an idea, nothing special, just people that want to create together getting together and making different art stuff. Have a giant building I am moving my studio into if all goes well in January with large open spaces can use to make stuff.  Would be in Des Moines so prolly a bit too far for most.

just as long as I can get a ride from Chicago, because I don't have a car. that would be really fun, though. and if you did it in early January sometime, we could use all that deco we create for the Jan. 24th party (since that's the closest to the date).

I love to make art with other artists present, it's great having all of that creative energy floating around.

I envision my studio I am moving into as an environment that anyone is welcome to come create at anytime. I love being around artists, it is pretty rare around Des Moines. Most of us are loners here, no big warehouse spaces or anything like Chicago.  We are getting supercrafty Dec. 13th with some people coming to visit but that is mainly to make xmas presents.

Jeff I think this is a really good idea! I am definitely interested . . . is there any chance our dogs could come along (it will save oodles of $$ if we don't have to board them for the weekend)?

Dogs, not sure, would think it would be ok if they are smart enough to not jump on a table or something. Will have to check.

If the dogs come . . . might be a tight squeeze. If the pups won't be attending I'm not sure we could fund the trip, let you know when I know  🙂

I may open this up to some local artist friends as well who do this style in the jam band scene. Would that offend anyone?

doh…just realized I've already signed up for a drawing class the first 5 saturday's of the year
