Heres an excellent place to start for you or anyone who has an interest. Its an actual 2 day, 1 college credit course on the history, culture and current research into psychedelia. Taught at the College of DuPage, its an excellent class, have taken it, know the instructor personally, awesome guy, highly recommend it if you are in the Chicago area.

Course description: an exploration of the role of psychedelic substances throughout history. This includes their use by indigenous cultures, in religious contexts, psychotherapy, art and in the political social context of the sixties. Current research on the use of Psychedelics will be covered as they relate to substance abuse treatment and as a therapeutic adjunct. Psychedelic research may be the field with the greatest gap between information scholars and scientists have discovered and what the general public knows. CEU’s available!
