My roommate is going to be painting some T and A and we need to know what the best paint to use is. We need something safe, long lasting, and high quality.

Hi there!
My first reaction to your post is: “don't we all?”, but I can certainly give you some pointers.

Generally speaking, Kryolan makes about the best body paint for a decent price. Especially their fluorescents are wonderful, since they are totally safe (fluo paint that is not meant for the body is not coated, and so tends to leave trace amounts of radioactive material on your skin). Choose those that are water-based, so they are useable for airbrushing, and on the face, and don't feel or look greasy. But you should keep in mind that Kryolan paints do not stand up to profuse sweating, or wearing clothes over the paint. The material is water-soluble, so it will come off relatively easy. It will stay on for hours if you don't go dancing or rolling on sheets with it.

If your idea of long lasting is being very active in it, or getting wet, then there are other options. Silicone and alcohol based paints last for days. You can get them wet, sleep in them, dance in them. But, at least as far as alcohol based paints go, you can't use them on the face, and certainly not anyhwere near the eyes.
I have never personally used silicone based paint, but I do believe that stuff is safe for facial use, and, maybe, for very careful application near the eyes. Reputable resellers should be able to tell you what the deal is on that one. The big downside is that these type of paints are also the most expensive.
