So I went and bought my first drum at this little Aftrican Import place a few weeks ago.  The shopkeeper wished me “happy drumming” when I left.

I love it!

Going tribal this year!  I'm becoming a frickin' hippie!  I soooo need to become more peaceful.  ;D

oh yeah, I def want to be proficient with it if I leave my house.  I have also considered the possibility whether DJ's are bothered by drumming during/along with their set?  At home I like to hit it along with music playing but that's more of like a training thing…seeing if I can transfer what I am hearing down into the drum.  At a party though I think it would be most polite to drum far enough away from the DJ where s/he can't hear me and it doesn't interupt them.  Unless of course it's indoors or the DJ's set is specifically for a drum circle.

Practice for 10 years before you bring that thing out  ;D

I have attended only a few good live drumming circles in my life.

The worst are pagans who think they have to bang on a drum because that's what pagans have to do, regardless of how bad they are.

Dancers get easilly distracted by arythmic noise as well  8)

Oh yeah, drumming would be great during that part where we sacrifice the virgins!  ;D

that crsytal bowl was awesome for sound as well.  i was amazed at how loud it can get and the beauty of the sound from it

That's a Tibetan brass singing bowl. The crystal bowls are WAY louder and more intense in every way.
