Why is it nessesary to chill when you just got there? I know you're lazy, but SRSLY? 😛

If you were plugging less pillz up your ass maybe you could see how many people actually occupy chill space@each party. Last one had the biggest crowd present all night long ever.

calm down damon my friend, one thing i noticed that was preventing people from immersing themselves in the chill stage is that the music lacked the progressive / beat driven nature that Machis set had left earlier in the evening. It was hard to go from Machi to Ambient for alot of people, as they were feeling the slower, groover beats as opposed to the intense nature of the Psytrance backbone. it will be great to have progressive / break beats / downtempo beats flowing through the second stage un til 3am, because noone really gets tired tired until about 3 am anyways 🙂

the word is out, and with the University on our side, this is going to be the biggest and wildest one yet.

MAIN STAGE in the atrium / glass hall way! Biggest sound system yet, more than twice what was used for the main room at Tribe Connection v1.0!!! get the word out boys and girls, things are just heating up 😉

Couldn't have said it better myself.  I think having other stuff on the chill stage besides typical psychill and ambient is a great idea, as indeed most people aren't tired and in need of lush, soothing chill until later on.

Damon, thanks for including me on your ideal party lineup.  Didn't know you cared…sniffle.  Makes me feel warm and squishy.

Abe, how would you feel if you were to put me in touch with the people who's sound system you're using for this one ahead of time.  I can get there early, help them set up, and they can tell me the specifics of their settings, and I can keep watch of the sound the whole night (unless they are gonna be monitoring it the whole time themselves).  Not that I'm a genius at sound or anything, but it seems like no one was really paying attention at the last one when things started getting messy.  I'd work for free, and you could have crystal clear sound the entire night.  I dunno…just an idea… :-

SOMEPEOPLE take a lot to get motivated to dance to psytrance, for it may be much to intense for them.

OTHERPEOPLE take a lot to get motivated to dance to chill / ambient, for it may be much to slow or chill for them.

FEWPEOPLE suck it up and get down to everything.

To each their own. Everyone could dance more if you ask me, including myself!

as nice of an offer as this is, the sound guy is finally excited for this party, and has enough advanced warning, that he will be sticking around for a vast majority of the evening. if he is to leave, he will teach someone settings, most likely myself since i will be most focused, but if we need ya ill let ya know! even the sound guy is expsyted!!! 😀

@psilopsyben – Chill / Downtempo stage is meant for just that. We do not want psy played on that stage, and therefore, we have not booked any Psy-only djs for this stage. People like Paradigm will be playing progressive / breaks, Gnomes of Destruction are expected to play a downtempo or prog psy set (pitched down to 130bpm or below), and the many other DJs are obviously also expected to play some sort of ambient / chill / downtempo / progressive / less than 130bpm music. its still a chill stage in comparison to the psy stage, it just wont be ambient until about 3am.

so please, lets get expsyted for both stages. line ups are killargh!

I recommend not adding the sound to your plate of things to focus on, as you'll be focusing on plenty of other things I'm sure.  But that's cool the sound guy's excited now.  The music is top-notch the whole night nowadays, due to the great amount of talented djs we have tearing it up consistantly at every party.  The bar for the sound should be just as high, IMO.  It's important!  🙂

so lets ask an honest opinion… would enough sound be good in the main room (atrium – where the chill stage was last time)?  Phil you could work with the sound guy since you know psy, you guys could be a team.  We can make this sound really good, right?

If you're paying the sound guy, he should be excited. It's a bit unprofessional for him to just leave without anyone babysitting the board… it could actually be dangerous! So it's good that he's expsyted now!  😉

    I know I am! Boom!!

I don't know where you've been the last few years, but I AM a psy only dj.  In fact, I don't think I'm really psy, I try to push dark to the extreme everytime I play.  It's almost techno/hardcore if you really think about it.

We can do psybreaks or prog whatever, but my specialty as evidenced by all but one or two of my mixes on audiognomes.com is the real down and dirty dark stuff, darker than anything I've heard at a Mindoutpsyde party (Arahat got real close from what I've heard). Andy, lets just say he takes a shine to fullon that drifts to the darker side. We'd really just like to come down and tear it up on the psy stage sometime and return the favor that you, Hurt and Aktif did for us on NYE. I'm not saying we wont come out and enjoy ourselves, but having the Gnomes of Destruction come and play progressive/psybreaks is like having Doormouse come out and having him play Happy Hardcore. It'd be a hell of a set (and probably hillarious), but you won't see the artist perform their best with their full attention.
As I said, we're gonna come out and play and play our best, have some fun and all, but honestly it's not our main style of music.

please enjoy your timeslot.  youre right, all you can do is the dark dark dark stuff, and nothing else.  if we were to put you on at 9, itd be the same set you would play at 2am.  we firmly believe in a flow, and djs that can accomodate to that progression.  if you havent noticed, our parties have headliners.. we fly people in from all over and lose our asses almost every time.  we fill the mainstage timeslots with the headlining acts we fly in, usually live pa's.  when there is space, we place ourselves there because we put so much work, time, and money into it.  we dont have space for midwest acts at peak times, because of how we book our parties.  dont be offended by it.  itd also be nice to actually see you at an event you werent playing at for once.  thats how this scene works.  energy = playtime.

so what do you and andy want to play?  chill or breaks?  keep me posted.

I honestly believe you could tone it down one notch on the headliners. Maybe get 2 instead of three and have em play a bit longer? You may not realize this, but MOST people come because you guys are throwing the show, not for the headliner. Most people have no idea who these guys are and are just as happy with the talent that resides in the midwest. You should not be losing money. You have a consistent turnout, you just over reach a little each time.

Thank you Max, for your kind words.  🙂

Look, we all want to play the 12-5am slot but why.  Is it because at normal parties this is when it's hoppin, or what?!  Well, that's normal partys.  This is MOP style ova here.  Shits hoppin from the moment those doors open.  Sure, you can act like, DAMN I got an early timeslut might as well not even move while I play.  NOOOOOOOOOOO….Freak out extra hard in this case… ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Chris nailed it on the head, dancefloor/scene energy/presence======who we want to play.

If you come just to play then you need to get a residency at some club or something.  If you want to play here, ya gots to sweat for it.  Ya got's to show that dancefloor that YOU are ready to move it as much as it has moved you…..  THAT'S how you get by in Psyowa!

this, and use an early/unusual timeslot to hone your variety.  If you speak monotone you will put people to sleep.  Same for what you play.  If you ONLY PLAY DARK, well then step out of your box.  Take the elements that you love in your music and rediscover them in other styles.  This is how I discovered I love prog and good ghetto tech.  Mix it up while still slangin it the way you slang it.  Ya'll have some keen minds, I know you can show us what the hell is up….

So yeah, we know you can play dark, just like we know you can speak monotone.  For this party…We want you to make it special for all of us…make it really special.  For this party, WE WANT TO HEAR YOU SING!!!

oh we'll enjoy our timeslot thats a given.  I think the thing that Ben and I agree on, and the reason that we began playing together is that music is our life.  Without music what would we be?  Ben and I have such similar, yet at the same time different loves of different styles of music that it's fucking crazy.  We both discovered psy around the same time (yet didn't let each other know about it 😉  ) and enjoy coming out to play for you crazy Psyowans.  I think Ben's argument is that we have a voice to sing that heralds the age of chaos that we wish you to hear, it is our siren song, that draws all to the edge of chaos of the mind, and we enjoy sharing it while not completely destroying your ego, superego and catering to your destructive ID.  But we will enjoy bringing you to another state of mind, yes it is good to branch out to other styles of music, showing that you are not a one style wonder, that is what my name portrays, Saeros is a Elvish Translation of Yaksha, look it up once, I enjoy brining the light and the dark to your soul.  This will be a chance to show you the light where as Seperation anxiety will be the place where we take you to the depths of your soul.  I dont think it's a bad thing to play on the chill/prog stage, it's a wonderful oppourtunity to take people on a journey to the depths of their soul.  However  it is as Damon does, you don't need to move and flail around to be moved by the music, this music affects a state of mind that is beyond the present dimension, we have all felt it on the dance floor.  So in closing, like ben said and I say, we will tak you on a journey that if you miss our set for the psystage, you will be missing out on something special thats for sure, we both know the depths of the soul and it is our goal to share the light and the dark with all of you.  Namaste my brothers and sisters and we look to share the beauty of the music with you all.

    Ando
