If I sugar coat nothing and go straight to the point, I agree that Abe has been seeking approval (and mostly not getting it). And I know because I'VE DONE IT. Otherwise I wouldn't notice. There's no need to assume he won't listen to us, though.

But it's a hell of a way to be called out on your deep issues – on a public internet forum. I mean, I could see why he wouldn't listen. It feels brutal to be called out on stuff like that, particularly if it's right on the money. I wouldn't be surprised if his defenses went up.

We all do stuff like this. Like I said, I've done the very same thing, and others do different things. All humans have their baggage to unpack, and every uncomfortable epiphany is an opportunity for growth…

Yeah, it's like, why try to share stuff you think is cool or important with people who don't care or aren't going to give you the level of interest/respect that you want?  I wouldn't want to share that stuff with those people anyway.

For example, if I found that after my Dexter and Breaking Bad topics that I started that everyone was completely against television around here or didn't want to give it chance, I'd probably stop starting topics about TV shows, especially if they consistently snowballed into arguments about which show is the best or why TV is a good or bad thing.

I am sure that there have been times where I have wrongly assumed that someone had not looked at all the evidence, but I have a strong feeling that these incidents were very rare. Even Basilisk, who many seem to view as a leader, refused to view certain pieces of evidence, and he has a right to do so, especially because adults are so busy these days.

If someone has viewed all the evidence, and disagrees with me, then I will accept that. I promise you this, because I deal with it all the time. A great example of this is when I encountered a supporter of Dr. Judy Wood, before I had heard of her, when I was still a strong supporter of Dr. Jones and his peer-reviewed nano-thermite paper. This person was very familiar with all of the evidence I had viewed, and she addressed it. She told me where I was wrong, and as much as it hurt, I verified this for myself after being directed to, and reviewing, more evidence. It turned out that I had not viewed quite a bit of evidence, not because of being closed-minded, but because I had no idea it existed. After reviewing more evidence, my opinion eventually changed.

My point: Someone that had looked at all the evidence I had called me out and disagreed with me. Rather than getting mad because she did not agree with me, I asked her why, and she explained. She pointed me to a bunch of information I had never seen or considered before, and rather than close my mind off to that evidence to avoid the risk of possibly finding out I was wrong, I chose to look at that new information and evidence, and see how it impacted my opinion. So, someone that had viewed all the evidence I had, disagreed with me, and I accepted it, and tried to find out why we disagreed.

I read that entire nano-thermite paper you posted back when that was the only possible explanation that fit the evidence. Remember that? You didn't follow the process you outlined just now. Since then I've not been willing to read long papers and watch hour long video presentations. It was a smart decision, too. Imagine if I had watched that entire AE911Truth presentation only to have you switch gears a week later. I would have been pissed! But I knew better. You have pissed your credibility away long ago. It isn't close-minded to ignore the ever-shifting body of irrefutable evidence that you spam these forums with. It's just common sense.

Nate: i've asked the group to help me find a venue. Nick mentioned one, which I hope he is looking into, and Blake mentioned two, which he is looking into. i also have a few leads to look into, going to check into them next week once these exams are done monday.

Basilisk: if you are ok with formulating an opinion without viewing important pieces of information that others have viewed, that is fine. it is your choice to have a less-informed opinion on the topic, and I respect your choice. Like I said, there was lots of evidence in addition to the AE911Truth Presentation and nano-thermite paper that I did not even know about until I heard about Dr. Wood. Naturally, after finding out about all this additional evidence, I needed to support a theory that explained all the evidence not just some of it. That is why I now support Dr. Wood, because her conclusions explain all the evidence, not just some of it. If I had continued to support the nano-thermite-only theory after seeing Dr. Wood's evidence, I wouldn't be a good scientist. Good scientists attempt to explain ALL the evidence, not ignore some of it, so naturally, I now support Dr. Wood, and I highly doubt that will change any time soon.

Leo: I already told Kevin that I think he makes a great point. We were not primarily discussing claims though, we were primarily discussing being open-minded to the possibility of things, then we branched off kind of. We were not talking about making public claims of things as fact, because that is a different subject. That is why I tried to reassure Kevin that on the topic you are speaking of, I would never want to make any claims or prescriptions or recommendations that were not heavily-backed by evidence. Just like I would not prescribe someone to take Oregano to cure a broken leg, but I would recommend that someone considers Accupuncture as an alternative to back-surgery to fix their back pain. (accupuncture is heavily backed by evidence now). Thank you for looking out for me. I assure that that I will think very hard before making public statements about controversial and sensitive issues. Thank you for the advice, and for being concerned for me.
