something i started last weekend, will probably change around a bit by the end of the 3day weekend we have here in the uk 🙂
RobyoParticipantSounds cool! I Especially enjoy the filtered break beat patterns, the horn riff samples, and the overall variety of your sonic pallet. The griminess of the bass line is great, but seems to lack a meatiness to the low end. Maybe a little more variety on the bassline and high hat patterns? Also enjoyed hearing the bass drops and skanks that come in near the end of the track.
AscensionKeymasterCool stuff. Yeah more low end for sure. You should play around with something like a flanger/phaser on the one shots to add some variations. A beat repeat or delay would vary up the rhythms as well.
nodsamadhiMemberyeah i'm slowly putting it all together – definitely need to go back through and do some more tweaking.
i might also go through and put in an extra pure sine wave sub line to beef up the bass – gonna be a bit of a pain in the ass to keep it in line with the current bassline at this point though 😛
RobyoParticipantShouldn't be a problem if you are are still in MIDI, but yeah, if it's digital audio, that can be tough…

i saved the original midi, but the current bassline is audio. i'd like to leave them separated (as the audio is being run through effects that i won't want the sub-bass to go through) but i'm using follow actions on the main bassline clips so i'll need to figure out how to synchronize them…

its amazing what a lil sinewave, can do for a track. I think that would accent your bass quite well actually.
nodsamadhiMemberyup, just finished rebuilding it all with the sine note and abstracted my cuts into a separate filter channel which both are now going through…gotta get in the habit of doing that from the beginning i think 😛
Ursa MajorMemberdefintely, sometimes I like to start a track, using a couple sine waves in unison, cross modulate the cutoffs, just makes for a really subtle effect that really works well with most atmospheres.
