AscensionKeymasterDownloading it now, it'll probably take me a few days to listen to it but I like the tracklist. Multiverse = $$$$$$$$$$$ and Lift Me Up is a perfect morning track 🙂
MachiGuestawesome Derek, thanks for posting. I expect another hi-energy, quality mix from you like the previous one you made. I will burn the copy of it and will listen in my car. Will give you feedback in a few days.
xenochromeMemberOn the DL now.
I'l leave feedback once I've had a proper listen.
xenochromeMemberFantastic mix, man.
Solid vibes throughout.
AscensionKeymasterWonderful mix, perfect flow throughout.
The only thing I noticed was at 12:11 the bassline switch sounded odd, but that was probably just due to the basslines sounding different, not phrasing being off.

Yea, good catch. If I'm remembering correctly that was the transition between these two:
Indeep & Dance – Aerophobia
Into the Future – 2HIThe Aerophobia track has a fucking amazing crawling bassline (which I LOVED overlaying with the dreamy digital mids/highs from the prev track ) … but the 2HI track was just a straight K-BB. If anyone can point me to other similar crawly basslines like that I'd appreciate the tip.
The EQing on that particular transition wasn't perfect either. The incoming track was slightly underpowered. I decided I'm through trying to make perfect mixes tho… I'd rather just post my shit with a couple errors here and there… less stress factor. Better to just put stuff out for people to enjoy ;D The more psytrance to go around this region the better.
In any case, thanks for the feedback everyone. I appreciate it. :-*
I totally still wanna tag sometime, Kevin. My schedule is just insane right now with Raindance, Carli graduating in 7 weeks (homework city!) and me spinning at three events in April.
AscensionKeymasterRight on Derek! Yeah I just recorded a mix that isn't 100% technically perfect, but I really like how/where I made the mixes at so I plan on posting it soon. I think that as long as it doesn't take away from the flow of the mix it's fine. Plus, people who dj also notice little things like this, not everyone else does.
underfootMemberI personally enjoy the from-the-hip approach to mixing vs. the flawlessly EQed, robotic sounding Ableton concoctions. Energon's mix appeals to me not only because it's well blended; dude just chooses tracks that strike me as being fun to dance to. Like, if I was walking down a woodsy path at some party and heard this music, I'd quicken my pace to be in its presence. Can definitely not say that of all psytrance.
Well done, Energon!
PsySexModeratoramazing mix i just loved to listen to!!! 🙂
only thing i can say that i learnt a lot from this one 🙂
Sudo Make InstallKeymasterhuge props for this one. Really looking forward to having you down our way on the 26th!!!
PsygominMemberVery Nice Mix. its right up my alley for tunes i choose to play and listen to. i dont have fancy computers mixing with me yet, but i have encountered the mixing issue that has been discussed above. there has been many times where i can have the beats matched and the timing right on but the transition from the one bass line to the next just seems to be a hard cut, when i have actually have had the tracks mixed, and both playing for at least a min. and yes that is one of those things that would make me go back and re record it, but i as well have stopped doing that as much. ive been goin for the whole picture and story of a set and not focusing on the little things that just 2 tracks might create being mixed. Listening to this mix was fun just to see how you used/ mixed several of the tracks. i have used several of them in my own mixes. fun.
