Wow, this sounds like alot of fun. I can't wait. This will be my first psy party. I don't know what to expect but I've heard they are alot differant from raves.
Most are and this one will most likely be no exception. How much this party is a special psytrance-dance experience and not a rave depends on the amount of people that go and participate in the overall community aspect (rather than only their little clicks), as well as the vibe developed from the promotion beforehand. In my opinion, psytrance parties should promote respect and reinvention of one's self and his/her ability to share his/her unique gifts and personality with others.
As far as the music goes, raves generally encompass many different types of music that never share a common idealogy (or for those of you who consider themselves not idealists, a common theme or purpose). Psy parties on the other hand, encompass one type of music, with the focus being on the many different variations and styles found within. In this way, psy “opens up” a world of possibilities to the listener, and likewise psy parties “open up” a world of possibilities to exist, explore, and delight in (going much beyond the music) for the duration of the party.
The things you can expect are lots of friendly, interesting people, and the music's intensity and tempo to follow the time of day. Past that, you can expect the unexpected. 😉
