RobyoParticipantAnyone got plans on this yet?
aktifMemberUhhh yeah…..Duhhhh…..You know it's going to be when the SnakeMaya people are taking over the earth. I can't believe how out of touch you are with reality….

aktifMemberI don't think you guys are taking this seriously…

emilybobemilyGuestgonna be getting ready for my 29th B-day. making sure all of the presents are wrapped for xmas… possibly at my Grandma's house
MachiGuestMayan Calendar (the end of Long Count) actually ends on October 28th 2011 (this year)
RobyoParticipantI've heard lots of different (official) dates actually… at least 12/21/12 is on a Friday. 12/28/11 is on a Wednesday, so that doesn't work for me at all!
HARDKORNATEMemberPretty sure we will try to rave our tits off.

Depends who you feel like listening to…

MachiGuestand whom does mr. Xeno listens to? 😉
Nameless OneParticipantI listen to the Mayans, none of whom made a big deal about this date until it began to draw in Western tourism dollars. In fact, there is, to my knowledge, only a single stone monument in all of Mesoamerica concerned with the date 13.0.0.0.0:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_phenomenon#Mayan_references_to_b.27ak.27tun_13There is also the question of correlation (does 13.0.0.0.0 = December 21st, 2012?):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mesoamerican_Long_Count_calendar#Correlations_between_Western_calendars_and_the_Long_CountYou know what would have been a helpful prophecy? Something about 11.13.12.4.2 (or something like that; my Mayan mathematics is rusty), the date Columbus landed, or at least a word about Cortez. I wonder if that existed somewhere?
Ursa MajorMembera certain percentage of people will self fulfill this prophecy, not unlike most any other prophecy, this one only gets so much attention, cause we understand so lil about the mayans, that mystery fuels this prophecy even more cause people naturally fear things they dont know.
