Dogs at events are the ABSOLUTE WORST.

And it's not just the dogs.  It's the irresponsible owners.

I stepped in dog shit twice and there were a total of 4 different dogs on separate occasions that were NOT on leashes.

To me *THAT* is reason enough to never, ever allow dogs, except for service animals.  Some people just don't understand, care about, or have any regard for liability when it isn't theirs.

You can't take your dog with you to places that do not allow dogs.

Sorry but showing up at a party with your dog and saying “hey we just drove 10 hours, is it cool that I brought my dog?” is NOT cool at all.  You know who you are, and you ought to be ashamed of yourselves for doing that.   ::)

Great party though!  Glad to have been a part of it!

I understand the dog hate, but please don't lump me in with the irresponsible dog owners. I did not make it to ED so mine was not one of the ones running around. I keep mine on a leash and we keep our distance from the big happenings. I also clean up after him right away. I've brought him to a few festivals now and he is wonderful. he behaves better than some trancers do! I know there are a few on this board who have met my dog at field trip and would vouch for his behavior and my taking care of him. I also agree that sometimes the dog is fine and its the owner who needs training.

It's not dog hate.  I love dogs.  It's just another one of those times that the irresponsible people ruin it for the responsible ones.  I'm sure Tyler and I were not trying to inadvertently lump you in with the former group.  However, just because you fit the responsible category doesn't mean you should get special treatment.  I'm guessing formal bans of anything would never go well in this community, but I think for the good of all events, DON'T BRING PETS TO VENUES THAT DON'T ALLOW PETS.  At the very least, it's totally disrespectful to the venue owners' wishes.  I think it should be frowned upon at any event though.

and just for clarity's sake, NCN Campground does not allow pets, so DON'T bring them to Crystal Sky.

i have not been on here in a long time… dont know the last time professor checked this thread…
sorry bout the picture issue… i was just collecting and chronicling as tyler used to do at his site with all publicly displayed pictures… i have been very sick this week, with sick kids as well… was going to contact the owners of images that had marks on them for credits and links… the images were not cropped at all… in full size images all intact… program that runs them for the thumbnails does not resize, just auto crops for the gallery…
    whatever
    the post is deleted now..
    you are welcome

i think making music takes a little bit more effort, time, skillz and money so I don't agree it would be the same thing…

I agree: contacting original author would be a very nice gesture and Sunra should give you guys credit for such nice shots… but if you take a look at the purpose of the whole thing, does it really matter? it's not that someone is making money of it…

Wow, I am sorry Machi I love you man but this is pure ignorance. So your art is better because of the perceived level is better quality than other people's art? I took a few hundred hours to make a piece and took me about $400 to create, not to mention time off work and such. Does that make that piece better than anything anyone creates that takes less time? I don't think so. I believe all art should be protected equally (and also to never compare what I do to others – Maybe it took a photographer 10 years to perfect their skills to get a shot that takes 5 seconds look amazing – all art is valid and deserves respect of what the person put into it).

Sorry this is sore point but I have had friends get really ripped off and crushed from someone using their work. They were not losing any money persay but when you pour your soul and heart into something it really is crushing to have someone else claim it as theirs.  Most artists do what they do out of love of their art, not making much at all. The thing of saying, “I made this” is often the greatest reward.

I am sure Sun-Ra as an amazing artist herself has a valid reason for this happening and she posted one 😀

so then we can agree that a DJs art of matching and mixing music is just as valid an art as the Producer?
coolness… just as a photographer would capture the art around them that others have created as a community endeavor (or not) and call it their own art…
what if my body and my kids' body is our ART…
wouldn't it be prudent to ask permission to photograph?
    it's all semantics
    and personal points of view…
i could argue the subject for or against for hours just to prove the point that there is no answer, nor is there any real argument…
sorry i was so slow with contacting those with marks on their images (only one artist had marks, blue) i had wanted to do write ups on the photographers and give mentions and links…
trancepsyndicate used to post up ALL online images of chilluminati community events no matter who took them or whose mark was on them… including goaspirit… without mention…
i will admit, i was a little miffed last night… (because of what i felt was undue angst and a big deal being made out of it… it's not like we are chill forum chat brats who come here every day or even every week…)
i talked with a couple friends,
who felt that a community endeavor such as these psytrance events could not really be held to such strict 'copyright' standards, as it is a whole community endeavor, and i was simply adding to the community's endeavor…
but its all good… i really don't care either way at this moment…
moon got bombed and all is still well with the world…
i will just redo the post with only my friend's photos to show the many facets of this particular earthdance event

    btw
    earthdance was much fun
    i especially liked abe's set
    electrypnose
    and coral's set
wish i would have arrived earlier to take part in the breathing and stretching workshops
i have left over art materials that i will be bringing to subsequent events…
    and yeah…
if a flyer says no dogs
    don't bring your dog…
i would say more on that
but it is all mere angst
and could be argued for or against till hell freezes over
with varying opinions and points of view…
    ;D

SunRa, i wholeheartedly agree with you. we are all swimming in this gray undefinable soup. you bring up good points and i recognized these things when the issue came up. but if blue feels differently about this, for whatever reason, i think her wishes need to be respected. if you, or anybody else, asked us to remove pictures of them that we took, we would do so immediately. i know when somebody sends me a PM through the board, i get email notifications. i don't know if that's the default setting of the board or something the person needs to set themselves. but, in any case, i know for sure the professor got my PM because the link was edited from the post shortly. i don't think there was any angst in my post, just more of an annoyance at the response (or the lack thereof). i apologize to you for assuming that you actually cropped out the tags. however, it still would've taken you at most a few seconds to include a link to the source. that would've made things different. also, i don't know if i'm retarded, but i couldn't find any contact info anywhere on your site (and it's a nice looking site, by the way).

anyway, i hope you and your kids have a fast recovery.

and that EarthDance sure was great.

I just asked for my husband, to do me a favor to contact the owner of the site that used my pics because of my poor english that I am still not able to make a good discussion like you guys are doing here. Also, I published other pics of the Sacred Earth and many people come to me in private and ask for permission to use them.
The point is not if I will make money with the shot or not, but the point is just for a common sense of respect – at least of the “tribe” here, of the community of ask if you can use them.  Or, if someone contact me and say, Jana could you please take pics for my personal site, yeah, I will for sure do that for someone.
Here is a public community create for Chilluminati that I found two years ago and I sm using to put pictures there like others members:
    http://www.flickr.com/groups/chilluminati
I hope that this doesn't cause misunderstanding between anyone.

@ Jeff, I agree and I love you too but you got a little bit hyped up about the whole thing taking it out of the context a little bit too much. I agree that art is an art and doesn't matter how much time and money it takes, if you create something beautiful – that is all it matters.
also @ Septa at this point -> But in this particular case we are talking about pictures taken at the party, not a glass picece of art or that awesome shot somebody spent months waiting and preparing for.  Plus, like Sunra pointed out our drunken faces are on those picuters as well and nobody has conntacted me if I wanted be exposed to public view like that… 😉

So giving respects to all the artists in the scene, painters, sculptors, photographers, fire spinners, musicans, djs and producers, dancers, tatoo artists, deco artists and everyone else, please be sure than your contribution is valued in all aspects and signifcantly enhences our scene. But please relax a bit!

yeah, like i said, that was more about the nature of photography as art, rather than this particular little “incident” here.

    But please relax a bit!

    done and done.

Sunra is right I never check my email.  I read the pm last night.  I have been working a lot and been out of town.  To Septa and Janna Blue I do apoligize for posting the website link without knowing what pics were on there.  I have never had any issues with this in the past.  No hard feelings I hope.  Your art is yours and you should be credited.

Earthdance was great for my family and I.  I really enjoyed all of the music that I heard.  I agree there should be a traditional chill area/stage.  I never felt like a could relax inside the dome.  Dubstep and progressive is not for chilling.  If people want that music there should be three stages… maybe.  I think the barn would have been perfect for that.

    okkk… sooo

    next earthdance.

I am going to get really shitfaced in a leather thong and get in everyone's faces.
I'm going to bring my dog and let it poo on everyone
I am going to actually take people's cameras so I won't have to accidentally use their pictures w/o permission later..
    ( step ahead. =D )

OHH and I am gonna make sure that its nothing but dubstep.

just covering all of the bases beforehand
    be prepared.
    😉
