justinGuestI live in Chicago and it's dreadful. Definitely get something on the north side if you do move here. I really don't think it's a good idea to be in/near a big city right now, but Minneapolis is probably your best bet. I've only been there once and the vibe was great, though it was long ago. One of my good friends has been there for years and he loves it. Good balance of city and nature. My favorite place to have lived so far is Madison. Not sure what's going on there for psy though.
cosmicvibrationsMemberHoly cow, Don. We're from almost the same town. Super close.
I love Chicago – great Burning Man culture. Not enough psy, but good music events nonetheless. Art culture: has it. Good food: has it. Over priced: yes. Winters: baaaad. Summers: free music.
I don't live in the city, but I will soon!
RobyoParticipantIn the midwest, I like Madison best for it's culture and parks. It's not a huge city, but is a college town and the state capital, so there's jobs & industry.
We live in Chicago and it's not that great. Best thing about the city is the amount of good ethnic restaurants. The local music scene is spotty, though the big names all come through on tour. The psy scene is growing slowly.
I used to live in Portland and it's a great town, but only if you can handle the drizzly winters and being far from family. West coast vibe is pretty sweet.
emilybobemilyGuestwe are actually really thinking more about Portland than anything else. or northeast. philly or closer to nyc. but west coast is sounding better and better. portland is our #1 choice.
