No guarantees that if aliens do come for a visit that they are going to be nice aliens.  Or that they would recognize us as intelligent beings.  We might be so dumb to them that they only view us good candidates on which to conduct tests upon.  Much like how we view chimps.  Or maybe our brains are just a delicacy for them.  ;D

…and on the flip side, if we ever do go inter-planetary and happen to find a race of intelligent beings, who just happen to resemble cattle, you can imagine the outcome of that one!  😉

There was a claim that if they do decide to make contact with life on earth they'd choose the species that had the most highly developed language. Apparently, thats not us, but whales.
