    Once we have the final totals and paypal email addresses to send payments to we'll start sending funds.

    On the note of adding a binder for comps / artists / camping rate

    Not a problem 😉
    We can set up a promo code for artists and comps to utilize very simply that bypasses the payment mechanism and adds them to a separate printout.

    We did this for presenters and sponsors of the Motion Graphics Festival and it works beautifully as long as the artists actually go through the system.

    Below you'll find the PayPal totals.
    We provided this to Tyler to print out before the festival.
    We'll delete this from our server in 3 days.

    Good.

    And just to be very clear on commitment… We are not sure that we will be able to physically attend SEOA.

    On the ticket sale note, we can provide a printable PDF to whomever will manage the ticket booth.
    We can setup ticket sales online after we get back from Boneyard Arts Festival on the 22nd.

    Thanks for the response Scott.
    Well written and we understand.

    We can commit to audio and video artist integration under the guidelines “free entrance to a great party”
    What's the deadline on finalizing lineup before going to web and print?

    Additionally we can provide ticket sales and promotion under the same terms as Earthdance 07 and the Chilluminati NYE event.

    We'll await your call to discuss presales.

    Sacred Earth Open Air 07 was a big a/v production.
    Many artists from different regions traveled to this fest.
    By naming the event SEOA 08 you set the expectation level above what was accomplished at 07.

    We'd love to see the budget to do this event right.
    Is it there?

    Many people commented on the let down of the lower budgeted CSFM as compared to the impact SEOA had on them.

    Just my random thoughts.

    Yes, we've been mostly silent because we've had to drastically change our online habits and general focus over time.
    We're still very passionate about the possibilities of what can be accomplished.

    We're usually always reachable via 773-332-9991

    mgFest08 Intro Video!

    Intro Video Case Study with Production Photos:
    http://mgfest.com/08/intro.php

    Lift Motion Design and Creative Chaos created this astounding intro video for the Motion Graphics Festival 2008 in Chicago, Jan 15-21st. The production process heavily integrated the motion design with the sound design by The Great Mundane.

    The inspiration came from the integration of several creative practices at this year's festival, which focuses on motion design, sound design and motion programming.

    Production, costuming, and makeup were done at Foundation Post and the piece was edited by Matthew Glover.

    Adobe After Effects was used for almost all the animating and compositing. The final edit was done in Final Cut Pro and the audio composition was created in Ableton Live.

    The final piece will play before a live audience at each of the 4 motion graphics screenings at the festival: Stash's Commercial Art screening, Lumen Eclipse's Video Art screening, the Art in Motion screening, and the Conscious Motion screening.

    “It was wonderful to have the opportunity to collaborate with other motivated and talented artists. I really do not think this project would have been possible with out each individuals passion and dedication to do what they love. And that love is responsible for the drive to follow through on the never ending quest for perfection to create a positive final product.” from Jeffrey Acciaioli (The Great Mundane, Composer/Sound Designer)

    the vector watery microchip pattern is offset

    if he's gonna mirror someting at least zoom in and make sure it's “perfectly” symmetrical

    maybe too brash — but this was something that we had to tell him last year during the design process

    Remember the money owed to us by Dulcenea, to my knowledge, has still not been dispensed. I thought it was roughly $720.

    As discussed in a previous meeting… When Chilluminati plans to do a Microtronic at Dulcenea the monies owed will be put towards the deposit to host another event in the space.

    Who is in possession of gate cash?

    Derby

    Who has the wristband box now? which includes my volunteer cards.

    Psymbolic does.
    We discussed providing volunteer info and registration emails after this week passes.
    We're currently preparing for a show at the Cultural Center.

    On the topic of distributing all leftover chilluminati money.
    We'll need someone to step up and manage the following.
    1) Someone take charge of accounting everyones submitted expenses.
    2) Compare what's owed to what's available from leftover monies.
    3) Submit preferred payment methods and exact figures for us to pay out.

    Left over monies in possession of Psymbolic
    $126.82 is left from SFIII pre-sales
    Crystal Sky funds to be distributed = $1230.89

    To reply to Scott,

    Yes, in the future… screens are a cost to have VJ's and should be put under the VJ budget.
    If we had knew of the additional cost in advance or utilized the initially proposed $1000 VJ Budget all this would be a different story.

    The stage wouldn't have been the same without the addition, so many thanks for taking care of it.

    We were under the impression that the screen was part of the original sound/stage/rigging quote.

    The $700 budget after distributing to Mason for his time and paying for provided vj gear and trans, leaves us very close to just breaking even.

    Since I personally just ended a contract with work that consumed 90% of my time and provided 60% of our income, we personally can't afford to pay for the additional screen.

    Just so it's known — We usually charge $450 + trans & accommodations to plug into an existing display system and approximately $2000+ to setup and perform on multiple display systems. 10 hour live performance and 6+ hours setup / 4 hours breakdown. Of course we have drastically lowered this reciprocative expectation for Chilluminati events.

    presales = 56
    paypal net = $1076.82
    presales attended = 53

    comps = 32

    gate tickets = 71 @ $30 / 3 @ $25 / 1 @ $20 = $2225
    [there is a $45 mizmatch in the book signin and actual $2180 cash calculated from drops]
    this could be due to…
    comps signing in the pay at the gate book
    OR
    something was paid for that was not noted
    OR
    someone gave back incorrect change
    OR
    people signing in without paying
    OR
    insert odd reason here

    gate cash = $2180
    minus:
    firewood = $150
    rexroat = $1000
    facehead = $150
    prof x = $50
    alison = $30 [alison said she would get the rest later]
    gate cash payout total = $1380
    $2180 – $1380 = $800 [Derby has on hand]

    paid prior to the event:
    sound deposit = $1000 out of Crystal Sky funds
    mowing scott paypal = $250 out of presale

    Gear rental provided by VJs, VJ performance and transportation to be paid with $700 budget from presales.
    $1076.82[presale] – $700[vj] – $250[mow] = $126.82

    Final total available = $126.82 presale / $800 derby = $926.82

    What else needs to be paid for?

    Crystal Sky funds to be distributed = $1230.89
