Im kinda psyched to be here!! new to chillORG but certainly not to psy. First off i would like to say to great minds that be fervently trying to bring PSY and thereof to the masses, bless you for all your efforts. Music saved my life (cevin fisher) John digweed remix! and Psytrance and ambient is the top of the pyramid. I would also like to thank all you djs from kri,derby,dragon,SOT, and so on and so on. I stumbled upon a lil site called TOUCHSAMADHI.com and came to know and love their mixes. SOT-AlphaSite and Derby-Mesculito being among my favs. anywayz long story short THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEAH. Though I started out listening to Juno Reactor – Bible of Dreams and was like WTF!!! and instantly in love, and “graduated” onto the likes of GMS,Parasense,Neuromotor,Penta,Xenomorph,Sesto etc etc bla bla. MY BROTHERS!!! let me tell you, the djs i mentioned before deffinetly have talent unbeknown to the general public and i wish them the very best of luck!!! My life long dream is to be a DJ and of course to PSY/Ambient and who knows maybe even some dark dnb and even some triphop/electro.

ok i blabbed on a while but here is what concerns me. I love in georgia bros, and there is NO psy here!! NONE i mean the closest we have locally in this po-dunk town that i live in is a club that plays house music, no offense to house heads. HOW CAN WE GET PSY DOWN HERE IN THE SOUTH? any one have suggestions?

You can:

a> stand around and hope it magickally appears before you.
b> instead of asking  how, think of how, apply it and show the masses “the way”
c> look online, setup contacts, find people who are local who wouldn't mind coming over to your house.  it takes awhile to “build a scene” and thus can only personally recommend what i'm doing here in minnesota and just invite random folks over who are open to it and don't assume you to be a drugfiend just because you like psy.  that'll probably be a common assumption you're going to have to put up with down there, too. 🙂
d> screw georgia, move to chicago or somewhere in the midwest.  it's boomin here and can only get larger.  much larger.  that's my REAL ADVICE.  *laughs*

And by the way, funny you mention Bible of Dreams.  I first heard Beyond the Infinite in 96 and I was hooked.  Then Astral Projection came along into my realm and I heard them and immediately bought all their albums on CD only to lose them one by one over the years :-D.  Then I graduated and learned the labels and gave up on the artist search because once you know the labels, you know who to look for and from there you can sort out the true granddaddys of psy trance.

For the record, I don't know how many people here know exactly the history behind psy but because he mentioned an older album I had better mention a little bit about this old 80's rock band known as Killing Joke.

Yes, Youth, if you've heard of him, was the bassist for this band.  He was also the main founding father of dragonfly records.  He has released some psy albums with the Killing Joke name as the artist under dragonfly records (Wardance Remixes).  He's also under Zodiac Youth who might sound familiar to many of you here, or some. 🙂  Martin Glover being his name he was known as Youth while Zodiac Mindwarp was the “Zodiac” in Zodiac Youth.  So, remember, one of our primary great labels started out of the love of rock n roll.

Anyways, the end.  I think I'm going to read a book.

Let's not forget the granddaddy of goa trance: Goa Gil. He started spinning electro and EBM in India when it first hit, only he would cut out loops of the instrumental jams and do on-the-spot remixes. Instead of records, he spun with DATs because the Indian summer would melt vinyl records…
These days his sound is more in the “trauma trance” vein, but he started out Goa style  ;D

I have to back up Robyo on that. Now it seems like he is into this dark, nightime psytrance music on labels such as Parvati, Deja Vu, Avatar, Disco Valley, Vertigo, Etc. From what I originally listened to his mixes & what he plays now…is very different. 😉

😉 Thanks all for the feedback, I have been listening to alot of a mix by Shad – Spun out. Man its good. Real good. A special thanks to The Fixer for the invite, to the BIO set but im not sure if im gonna ge able to make it. BUT BY ALL MEANS KEEP ME POSTED!! THANKS – Its funny Aaron mentioning do something about it!! As in the dont complain/wonder and go DUH. LOL hehe (about getting psy here in the SE.) I say this coz I have been having the looming idea to call the radio stations and ask them to let me throw down some electronic monkey food and make these ppl go ape shit! Trust me the idea is still on the back burner. But with school and shit it can be tideus (forgive the spelling, if wrong). I do have a buddy that is a web designer for the school and he could hook it up or i could just as soon hook up IIS and learn html my self eh? hmmm. HMMM. For the record, Aaron mentioning “show the masses the way” is EXACTLY why i want to be a Dj producer. Maybe with organizations like this one, Tsamadhi, Agnomes etc etc we can move into the aspect of “techno” (loosely used) that I have achieved. DRUG FREE. I guess it helped that I listened to it long before the drugs. So maybe this is the reason why that now im drug free and have been since 2000 that im still trippin out but now on just the music!!! Yes its possible and I hope all eventually if not already SEE THE LIGHT. Since stopping my junky habit, i have done time in the military and am in school for networking. Guess all im saying is I Feel Great, IM Sexy As All Hell, AND Im Still Rocking out to PSY!! LOL  Enough preachin my bros, all in do time right? Promise thats the last Father Talk we have. muhahahahaha

wait, you're in school for networking?  you want to run iis?  what?  i do not understand.  even a 12 year old would realize that iis is something you would avoid.  not to be rude, but dude, seriously.  you need to apply yourself and go learn some bit netmasking and run something besides iis in a windows environment unless of course under nt 3.51 (the nt microkernel kicks ass, actually, even though it's still microsoft).  i'd recommend apache and not for windows, either.  it might be a bitch if you don't know it already, but man, spend 10 days with that config file and learn it.  sorry dude, i just had to say something.  school for networking but talking about running iis?  i would not want someone like that running my servers, that's for sure!  a degree in windows networking? naaah.  for unix, perhaps =]
