What's up all you “maniakos” here in the midwest.  I'm new to the area and looking to jump right in to the psy scene here.  In addition to the big events organized by the great crew here, is anyone interested in some smaller stuff.  I'm just learning to play and will go anywhere people are willing to listen….is there anybody out there?

i am alomst a full step up from where you are.  yet i am also not.  apart from the crrew where i love in wisconsin  there is no one close by me.  there are 2 metropoliton areas that i can influence. the fox valley and Green Bay.  and green bay i have just started on.  i know there are times where i feel as small in the scene as you . just cuz ive been there.  hell i wouldnt be where i am right now if i hadent gone on a road trip with people i didnt know.  who ended up being  people who decited to throw parties.  and 4 parties later….

i dont like the fact that i have to travel so far just cuz of the econimy and my current personal situation.  though i dont regrett any of the distances i have ever had to travel.  hell i convinced people in new orlieans that i cam efrom wisconsin to see caffine halloween.  when in all atually at the time i was liveing in pensacola florda.  adn yet another hell. one of my friends makes the trip to ultra in miami from wisconsin.  son parties are not a problem to get to. 

Get a good demo/ promo out to the main producers of the chilluminati parties.  being Jeff Benner, and Paul (Dj Underfoot), and im sure some of the touchsamadi people wouldnt mind one eather. 

i am personally am hoping that i can get into this new crew that i have found.  as wel keep into the one that i currently play with.  i have been asked to play a party the weekend after dreamfields. though it hasent been confirmed as of yet it would be yet another setp up from the begining. 

when i first moved back to appleton i asked some one if i could go any where djing and he said no the scene is dead here.
i agree with that from where i live but i have since been able to show that “fool”(though hes' not)that i have a place i th enewest form fo trance to hit the midwest.

I will Say it once again there is an offer for a psy dj to play a 2 hour set with me at a bar in appleton wisconsin.  i personally dont feel that i can head line yet…..   
playing is not a problem…..  most likely it ill be on a friday night  music usally starts at 10 pm and dont ends till bar close which is 2 or 2:30 depending on the night. 

I am personaly looking for as much venues to play at that i can.
i currently have been asked to play a party the weekend after dreamfields.  which will suck on my part just cuz of the gas and money situation. but the second party is closer….

yet one other thing for you to consider.  Get a foot hold  here. help here as much as you can. ( i am trying to as much as i can, though it come down to promoting, to help with getting these events )  and i have asked around my area and what not and found A few places to play “now” though i need some one who has been i playing longer. 

when i first went to a chilluminati party and volinterered( i cant spell) i experienced a side of parting i never thought i could experience.  so as i have experienced and felt get as involved as you can and promote you demo.

and when it comes to your demo send one to dj Underfoot , it will be worth it.  reeguardless of what you think of your set his information has a benifit.  and send one to jeff benner, you might have to ask for an addy for both of those., and id like one jsut cuz i like hearing new DJ mixes and i also use a file sharing program which i enclude mixes from people from here

SE Michigan psytrancer reporting in.  There is no scene to speak of in Michigan, but I'd be more than willing to support one any way that I can.  I've tossed around ideas in my head, but I lack funds, talent, and motivation.  I've spent many weekends travelling to parties in Chicago, Cleveland and Toronto and will probably continue to do so.  Keep in touch.

Hey doku, where in SE Michigan are you?  I'm in White Pigeon (us12 and us 131).  I agree, no scene, but I have already got some people around here interested, at least a little, in the music.  Right now we usually just hook up my decks and mixer at after parties, but hopefully it will get bigger and better.

Are you going to Dreamfields?  A couple of us want to go from here, and are thinking about going in my conversion van.  If you want to ride along let's set something up.

I live in West Bloomfield (Detroit suburbs) and goto school in Ann Arbor.  I've considered the trip to Dreamfields but I'm kind of still recovering from all the partying I did in June.  I've travelled too much this summer and I feel kind of unbalanced.  If my mind changes I'll let you know though.  I'm sure it will be an excellent time.

Redford, Mi here. Not much of a psy scene here at all. I have a hard time getting gigs when I say the word “psytrance”…yet I get booked to spin acid techno quite often. There are just too many techno/house purists in detroit who immediately stereotype trance as “cheesey oakenfold type o' fluff”. Although I played a very techy psy set at an afterparty for Dalley in the Alley and everyone enjoyed it.

I'm in Sterling Heights/Macomb area, though I work in Novi and am moving to Ferndale/Royal Oak (or maybe further west along 696/275) once my lease is up in Feb.

If there are any psytrance DJ's in the area, the local Burning Man community is going to be holding fundraisers for the coming year and we're looking for DJ's.  Our parties usually include the girls of Chaos Productions and the Fire Fabulon spinning poi and breathing flame.  We also have a local lightshow group that put together a lightshow wall for the last couple of things we've done.  Our group is heavily into goa, but as of now we don't have ay local talent to really come out to spin. 

I'm babbling terribly, so I'm cutting it off now.

Of course!  Generally we pull people from Chitown/toronto into the mix anyway.  On another note, we're in the planning stages of putting together a Nonprofit art group for Detroit, as well as working with David Best (the man responsible for the Temples out on the playa) for doing a city project.  Will post any info as it becomes available.

am in touch with DJ Litmus (Scot) from detroit……….he loves spinning Psy/Goa………he said he has a few friends who share the same passion but have not had much of a chance here in Detroit. maybe we can get together with him and do a small event.  ;D
