This is probably the best photo of Doyle I have seen.

Next chilluminati event I am going to wear a tube top so I can get in Mike's gallery.

Ha! I took that as he said “I'm not photogenic”… I have some photos of you too, but you look a bit demonic in there, so I reserved them from public display 🙂

ha funny, I never said that!  ;D

Thanks to all who helped me with deco. You guys really came through for me. I was a bit stressed after the trailer incident and not arriving until way late. Its amazing what happens when such creative people come together.

A special thanks to Alison for being my right hand. I couldn't do it without you. :-*

    comments about space:

The cool thing about Secret Fire is that we had THREE spaces, really: the psy stage, the chill stage (inside the barn), and the chill space (outside the barn). The chill space inside the barn was still too loud for comfortable conversation, but the space outside was perfect for conversation. I would like to continue to do THREE spaces like this: psy, chill, chill conversation.

I also liked that there was one trail you had to walk up and down to go between psy and chill. It was a major place where I met many new people and made new friends. You could not help but start conversations.

This was a great effect of Kalyx center being so grown up with trees and brush.

I think 2 “spaces” wpuld be enough. IMHO placing chill out stage (soundsytem, cdjs, chilldeco etc. ) outside the barn would be a perfect move imho. But Mike told me ” Trust me” … so I gave up. I'm usually against “too loud soundsystems”. But, I'm usually not 100% sure, cause my hearing is fucked up alreday. So I do not fight against main “masters”.

    I'm happy it's not just me 🙂

We were lucky in that Bill's barn has the open screen for sound to project out… but a seperate chill conversation area, where the music is still well heard, is difficult to do. I happen to prefer capably loud sound systems, even for chill, but it doesn't have to BE loud all the time… It's nice to be able to talk and still have the system loud enough to feel the bass and sound..
…in the outside chillounge, you could still hear the psy stage, but in the barn, you were engulfed in chillsound   😉

I thought tent over psystage dance area was too weird. Sound was louder under there and the visual focus too directed on the dancers. Too inhibited feeling, IMHO. I mean, it looked great, but needs to be in the back for people to chill and/or dance or whatever…

Fire needs to be closer to one stage or another, like in previous Secret Fire (awsome locale by the chill stage) or Karmaclysm (good for keeping warm by psy stage). No one really hung out by it cause it was too far from the action!

Overall, superfun badass party. Thank you  for making it  ;D  ;D  ;D

My wristband number at registration was “314”!!  😮  A physical manifestation of the electronic world?  Maybe.  I use pi in all the signatures for all the forums I'm on.

This was my first Chilluminati event that I've been to, and it won't be my last!

You're not going to take that wristband off, right?

Most electronic music world, however, is in binary, where the beats can be subdevided into 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 and so on… Although Pi is definitely a unique number, I don't think it is used in music anywhere – unless you have some examples…

It was nice chatting with you. Thanks for your positive feedback on my IDM set. Check out more mixes available for download on http://www.liftmuziek.com

I already took it off, but I'm saving it with my flyer collection.  It looks kind of funny on my wrist; I'm thinking about making a necklace or something to attach it to so I can wear it all the time.

There were way too many other events going on the same weekend. I know of at least 2 (maybe even 3). That dipped into the attendance of Secret Fire. Can we list the events on the same day? There was the Cave with Infected Mushroom.

is Pi figurable to the golden ratio? if so, then it definitely is prominent in music  ;D

The 4 Liftmuziek sets are StElLaR, Mike … thanks so much for directing me there  ;D

Personally, I felt that the set-up around the Chill stage was ideal — gently engulfed in the Chillsounds once you step inside, and a perfect ambience outside under and around the tent …

    Thanks again to everyone involved

It was possibly competing events but also probably in part that July1-4 is family weekend for many people, also June was a complete overload of events with Sacred Earth, Entheon, and All You Can Stomp. Plus there was Freedom Fest in Ohio. So, Holy Fuck Batman.

Lately the Midwest has been awash in events so we just have to deal with that the best possible. I don't think we will do Chilluminati events on Major Holidays again.
