edaisGuestI think every Sac Earth has been dry?
Nah, it rained at the first one. I think I remember dancing late Saturday morning/early afternoon in the rain with all the spandex soaked and dragging down. I think that was also the one with Kuroush Dini's amazing all piano set in the rain. Dozing with light rain and beautiful piano melodies floating around in the air. It was waaaay blissful. Speaking of that, what's he doing nowadays? Is he busy around the time of this party this year? I always really liked his music, and Josh Brill too.
From his review of the 2006 Sacred Earth Party:
“The Sacred Earth Open Air Chilluminati event was entirely wonderful. The NCN campgrounds turned out to be a great place for what surprisingly seemed like an intimate gathering of people who just wanted to enjoy some music, outdoors, and meet other like-minded people. The moods ranged from mellow to intense – all vibrant with positivity.
Everyone was friendly and helpful – staff, volunteers, and patrons alike. I had never been to a music festival such as this, yet I, along with my wife and her sister, felt very welcome. By the time we left, we were extremely relaxed and ready for the world again.”
and…
“I performed twice. The first performance was solo; the second was a first time collaboration with Josh Brill aka Convolution Integral.
Saturday’s performance at the main stage went very well. Before I began, Josh and I discussed how we would fade out and into each other’s sets. As we talked, clouds began to form, and the rain that I thought would not come until Monday turned out to be making an early arrival. Ultimately, it turned out for the better.
The rain came pouring, and I just had a blast playing in it. I was covered by a rooftop, and the wind blew just right to not get my equipment wet. The staff covered the speakers and the music played throughout the campgrounds. Once the set was over, the rain stopped. The whole thing seemed rather magical. I couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop.”
🙂 🙂 🙂
PauldoMemberI hope you don't wear your spandex outfit again Phil. ;D

AscensionKeymasterNancy gets wet at Sacred Earth. ;D
Sudo Make InstallKeymasterjust got my first batch of flyers today— wow! they really came out great. i can't wait to get these out and about! Also, thank you for the kind words on the artist pictures / layout. i had some free time yesterday and really wanted to get some things done. It was rushed— but it's a good start.
nodsamadhiMemberthe rain at the first SEOA was awesome – it rolled in right as i was closing up and kourosh was getting ready to go on, and i just sat at the back of the stage for the duration of his set listening to it hit the tin roof, which added an awesome extra layer to his music
then as he was finishing off, it blew over and left us dry for the rest of the weekend (from what i can recall, anyways)

PookztAMemberPAULDO! u just gave me a great idea! u should bring a card table so we can get some Psy-poker going on! perhaps we could even paint the table all psychedic at night time, and then play cards on it during the day when it dries! it would be way fun to have a poker game or two during the afternoon… hell, it could even be counted as a workshop 😉
thoughts anyone?

Hahaha not paying attention to the workshops thread, Abe?

PauldoMemberYeah let's def play poker but not as a workshop or during the workshops times. There's some good info and talks coming out of the workshops that we all should catch. Plus I know some of the speakers are putting a lot of work into their workshop.
So I was thinking we could play fri night or after the workshops. Nothing serious, just like a 10 buck tourney, a couple hours for fun. I got me, Phil, Dakota, Trevor, Abe, Chris(Collision) plays I think, Derek is bringing his chips, Daniel, and Max has got to play…it'll be his bachelor party and guys play poker at bachelor parties! We'll get Max good n' crunked. The Chilluminati crew will be giving him lap dances. ;D
Anyone else is welcome to play.
AscensionKeymasterI'd be up for some poker for sure (assuming I'm not busy when you're playing). Poker + beer + outdoor psy party = ultra winningness
