I know very few people here care about politics, but Ron Paul is coming to Chicago this weekend and I plan on being at the rally and seeing him speak.
He supports ending the oil and drug wars, closing the federal reserve, abolishing income taxes and defending the constitution!

uh, i like his voice. he says a lot of cool shit. he'll never achieve even half of that as president though. he'll be lucky to get one of those things accomplished.

i speaketh this way because i lack any trust in any words a potential candidate utters out of their mouths. thus far in the world of politics, it's all been bullshit tactics. ron paul's running of the mouth basically pulls in a wider population. he's getting the pot-heads, the old timers, and those of us who hate income tax (which is most of us) on his side.

again, it's merely the muttering of one's mouth. sure does sound good. i relate his speaches (preaching) to Hitler. He's very…uhm, hypnotic to say the least in his words.

i'm just sayin, be cautious! i refuse to vote anyways, what the hell am i saying? my words meant nothing.

Devious, you're comparing Ron Paul to Hitler? That's hilarious, and you lose, dude.

lose? lose what? i didn't lose anything. i don't see “Game Over” flashing on the screen, yet.

on any note, if you have any idea how Hitler acquired that many followers, it was by his hypnotic speeches that were commanding. if you fail to recognize Ron Paul as the same thing, fine. I'm not comparing a bunch of jews being killed to Ron Paul, merely the fact that his following buys absolutely everything this guy has to say. it's all political bullshit. after all, if he did live up to his word, he wouldn't become president. it just doesn't happen that way. fact is, president's have little control, congress has tons. it's not like he's just going to become president and suddenly pot is legalized. even through a long process, it'd be lessened on a federal level and states given the power to decide whether to prosecute.

but yeah, i think he has wonderful fairy tale visions we'd all love to see, but, but, but … reality is, it's just not going to happen that way. i'm just trying to be a realist here. 🙂

by the way, that's what i said about our current governer. by golly that was a mistake. no tax hikes, everything's become a fee in place of the word tax. raised the state park camping “fees” closed down our rest areas for a long while, and completely sidetracked out budget. i learned my lesson by voting for him. and i will never vote again because like i said, it's all just words until action is actually done.

if he wins and does a lot of this shit, i'd really question how he did it really. but at the same time, i'd be thankful. i just don't like listening to politics no matter how much i want to side with them or not. politics = bullshit = we're dished out enough in one lifetime. 🙂

Devious, no offense, but I think your opinions on whats worth doing are 100% broken. You have the most defeatist negative views I have ever seen and your standard response is “I don't like it so I'm not going to participate.” Get out there and do something about it. Life a lot better when you find reason to be FOR things than reasons to be AGAINST things.

Rob I've seen comunists, anticomunists, neocomunists, liberal democrats, christian democrats, liberals, populists and god knows who else ruling my country. Same here except *communists 🙂 The end result is ALWAYS the same. Like Aaron said – they say what people want to hear untill they get elected. Then …. different story. No one will take care of me but myself (unless you are billionaire). Local leve; – a little bit different thing I admit.

    That's it.

PS. I don't say you suck cause you vote/actively participate.

PSPS. Did you personally feel any change because your political actions?

Yes, but Aaron fairly consistently tells us how something sucks and he won't be participating. If its not a specific subset of old goa, its no good and he's staying home. I've seen him when he DOES go out and he has a great time, so I guess I'm saying that I think it's pretty depressing that he always finds a reason NOT to participate.

I don't like being active. Nor do I really have as much time as most of you to be active. Remember, it's just me and my boy and I am really not negative, I live day to day happy as can be while people (HI SOMEBODY HERE) talks about the end of the world and shit. I don't strive to make this world a better place. I do my share in some hippie trends, but quite frankly it's not my job to “change things” in the world. In my world, I am in a happy place. I don't think my view of Ron Paul is negative by any means. It's just the truth. He's no different than a preacher up on the stand preaching about god, and then that preacher going home, drinking booze and doing unGodly things.

I am for a lot of things, really. But I don't waste my precious time wasting more time hoping that there's a cure-all solution to this country's problems, my problems, etcetera. It's all in small steps.

And yes, me for president. But you'd all be more fucked than you already are.  ;D
