Best party of the year for me. Iguana played the best set I have ever heard in 15 years of raving. Wow. Will try and write a full review as soon as I assimiliate it all.

    Here is my full review:

I am kinda speechless still but will try and do a review. This was my favorite non-burn festival of the summer I think. The atmosphere, the weather, returning to hog-ridge hollow, the amazing locals, djs, my travel posse, everything was just perfect. I went all out dancing to this one and had some totally amazing moments that really blew my mind (literally ! in a good way).

Kaiser Soze played one of the darkest and twisted sets I have heard him play, he actually scared a couple of our newbies from Iowa away from the dance floor – now that is what I am talking about 🙂 He really set it up good for Iguana to destroy me. Iguana had my soul wrapped around his finger and just kept twisting it until I had a very profound trance dance experience. Maybe I am older and more receptive to psy but I would say this was the best set I have ever heard in my 15 years of raving.  Totally amazing set, that last one by Osom (to be released in the future I think?) was amazing. Wow, can't say enough about this set. I felt sorry for Deep Fryer to play after him. I was ready to put a fork in me cause I was done. Deep Fryer totally rocked it afterwards though! Awesomeness, had me going for a bit while I came down to earth a little. I was so worn out that I had to sleep a bit after.

Woke up to some great dub with some real groovy happy vibes, not sure who it was think it was around noon?  Anyway, highlights of the night were Dragon  then SOT and Derby, they really worked the dancefloor and got me the energized enough to handle Deviant Species for another ripper. What is up with these europeons? They must have some secret sauce or something cause that extra oomph they put in just gets me everytime 🙂 Really good stuff also. Solomoon kept the floor rocking but I was too worn out so heading in about an hour into his set to relax in a chair , but turned out I passed out 🙂  Must be getting old or something.

The deco was great both nights but Zay, Boozer, Agni Tara, and Crystal from Wilderness Tech really enhanced it for Saturday. Totally made a different atmosphere that set a good vibe.

This party really reinforced why I love midwest parties. So many people just totally let loose, the dance floor was packed at night, so many friendly happy trancers, ravers, burners, etc getting dressed up in paint and costumes too! Great times indeed.

I can't thank Esoteric Generation enough for continuing this event. Was truly a pleasure to be down there and attend! Thanks for the love you put into your events – it shows in your production and permeates the vibe!

    XO

This is just what I heard last year, that this is one of the great central U.S. festivals.

Unfortunately with its timing during the school year, and the 14 hour drive time, attendance will always be iffy for us. Maybe next year we can fly down there.

    Last year was incredible too!

I am sure we can get you there if you fly or train down 🙂

Definately worth it and hope they do it again next year. I know they lost a bit, but hopefully not enough to keep them from doing it again.

Hands down one of the craziest parties I have been to in a LONG time….
not exactly sure what I was expecting to find in Arkansas, however I'm sure
it was something fairly close to “Where the Red Fern Grows”..
took a 19hr greyhound ride from Atlanta to Fayetteville. and would
    immediately do it again.
nestled in the foothills of the Ozarks, the Hollow exists in its own special
    time and place..
the hog ridge folk are AWESOME people, and made me feel completely at home.

the crowd was an interesting mix of psyheads and nightly party kids…
hearing people talk about going home and coming back, driving here and there
    totally threw me all weekend.
there was a noticeable Fayetteville contingent, and loads of local kids, but
everyone was cool, even the “Weekenders”.

iguana rocked my brain…. dropped a housey track, a Freeland tribute, and
    some dub…
deviant fucked up a lot of kids on Saturday…. good tunes.
ALL the locals were awesome, good dark psy all around.
whoever had the 8-10 or equiv slot was DAMN GOOD morning.

went a little too dark into Sunday morning, im used to transitioning a bit
    earlier….

I definitely had sound issues with the setup…. totally dance floor
oriented setup, the sound inside of covered pavilion type structure…
im used to, and i think prefer a more expansive grass stomping area…. it
kept me from really getting into the music all weekend because of a
relatively small sound zone on a concrete floor.
things are done for a reason however, and im not one to complain… just
    made for an interesting weekend.

the people!! the Midwest scene has it going on!
healthy love of all things  which I havnt seen in a while.
I made more friends last weekend than I have in a long time, quality people
    all around.

if you missed this party…. you should be kicking yourself…. and start to
figure out how your going to get out next year.
spectral is now on my perm party list…… can't wait until III!

    peace & love
