Robyo, your past two comments have really made me sad. Rather than appreciate the value of Psytrance, as well as other kinds of music, you see this as a comparison, and have done nothing but defend other kinds of music, other kinds of BPM, against Psy. this is not saying that Psy is elite, it is strictly saying that Psytrance is scientifically verified to put the listener into a Trance more so than other kinds of music. i wouldnt necessarily say this even makes Psytrance fulfilling, it just makes it Trance-inducing. I grew up listening to Beethoven and Mozart, as my mother played them for me every single night during my 8-year piano recital “career,” and i definitely consider them to be just as stimulating, but in a much different way. the bass pattern of Psy mirrors steady drumming patterns used by ancient tribal cultures for centuries, and i just find it amazing to know that science has finally put information out there telling as to why drumming patterns, classical music, and also Psytrance, can produce a trance-like state in the user.

perhaps you should focus on appreciation rather than pecismism, as this information was never put on here to discredit any other kind of musical genre. it was only added to help others increase their understanding and appreciation of Psytrance, and that is it, and i am almost baffled at your ability to take good information and turn it into a completely negative thing.

these two artists have put out some of the best music that we will ever experience within our life time. it is so great to find Psytrance that mirrors the intelligence that can be found in numerous compilations by Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven. Psytrance to me is new-age classical music, built in the same 4/4 structure, but with an added trance-inducing, always oscillating rhythm of bass. its like combining ancient tribal / african drumming patterns, and the crisp and precise synths and melodies of intelligent classical music. i totally see Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven getting the fuck down to Psytrance, and maybe making their own, or at least adding their intelligent influences into a few tracks, if they were here today.

Music is SUCH a subjective thing!  One person likes a particular genre, another likes a particular beat structure, yet another prefers Philip Glass….!
I completely understand the need for constructive discussion within the community, but why go down the road with the “This Style Is Better Than Yours Because…”?

being a lover of ambient, especially songs including the citar and digerido (spelling?), i definitely understand that other types of music easily throw listeners into a trance. i just felt that the information pertaining to psytrance, as it is what we primarily hear at most of these events, was totally relevant, and would be appreciated, rather than scrutinized / objected to…

my discussion with you was not about any other kind of music, it was simply a means of helping you to see that you were not appreciating the comment i made, in fact, you were clearly unhappy about it and refuting it. Psytrance can be scrutinized, no problem, so can all kinds of music, but i guess i was just hoping for you to make some kind of positive acknowledgment or response, which was the whole reason i posted it in the first place.

instead, it generated a discussion, a discussion which you seemed to keep adding into as if the comment was bad, or as if i was implying that other kinds of music are “lesser.” i am a science lover, and a Psytrance lover, and i felt the comment to bring some interesting ties between the two subjects.

i am glad everyone has joined in on this, and im glad that we all have kept an open mind in talking about all different kinds of music, and i encourage you to all contribute this energy towards PSYOLOGY, as its going to be nothing short of insanity. the word is out on this campus ladies and gentlemen, everyday i speak with new people who have heard of the party from friends and not from me, and it only becomes official then when i give them the flyer 🙂 it is ON, and i would be more than happy to host all of you at my home here, just so that u guys can make it out and have a comfortable time.

i am serious, this event is going to be the talk of this town, as most of the music / concert events in this town are either very mainstream and commonplace, or they do not have very much energy invested into them. the energy you all will bring, the energy MindOutpsyde will be investing, is going to cause an eruption on a massive scale.
