if im forced to use vsts then for bass the one I like most, is u-He's ACE, really dope synth. I personally adore reason, so I really dont mess with plugins much, sometimes I use them for mastering and what not,. Izotope has a nice mastering suit.

    u-He products are the bomb-dig.
I've been trying to kick Reason for quite awhile, but I still rely on rewiring into Ableton..  Max is starting to break my dependence on it, but I'm not sure I'll ever completely let go.

A tip for anyone in Reason.
Combine your sound source along with an extra maalstrom.  Route the mods from the maalstrom to rotaries 1 and 2 on the back of the combinator.  Open the programmer and choose the maalstrom.  Set rotary 1 to modulate the rate of mod b.  Set rotary 2 to modulate the rate of mod a.  Choose your sound source and set rotaries 1 and 2 to control filter cutoff and res, amp decay and release or any other set of paramaters.  Listen to your sound source squawk.  Mess with the waves in the maalstrom mods and the settings in the programmer to dial in a 'pleasing' sound.  Setting the mods to sync and using square or s&h waveforms can make some interesting patterns that stick to the tempo.  You can also set these waveforms to mod the buttons instead of rotaries for interesting stepping effects. You can also set mod b to affect mod a inside maalstrom for even more modulation.

Setting a rotary to control the ms time in a delay creates some pretty nasty/psychedelic boinging delays.
Use an s&h waveform synced to tempo to modulate the start time of a sample in nn19.

For those using Ableton that don't know you can right click the top of EQ8 for a hi-quality mode and the top of simple delay to change how it reacts to automation.

yeah I like doing something similar but with thor, use it as a computer, link cv ins 1,2 with outs, then you can control how much of the cv is applied using the programmer, and its midi capable. malstrom mods are fun too ya, especially cause they retrig when you hit a midi key.

The modulation routing possibilities in reason are too fun. I have an unreasonable love for the Spider CV device – merging LFOs is sweet.

I'm not sure what you're saying in your first sentence, but I'd like to.  What do you mean link cv ins 1,2 with outs?
Maalstrom mods only retrigger if you have 1-shot selected.

I mean route the cvs from the mods on maelstrom, into thor's cv ins and out threw thors cv outs, then you can control precisely how much of the cv modulation is applied as well as automate such things. so for instance you want to make some wobble wobble dubstep bass, but you only want the wobble of the LFO to be applied on the last bar in the 4/4, so you can rig up some automation to do that, or make another lfo to modulate. does that help?

Yassir.  I mainly wasn't sure which outs you were referring to.
Got any other Reason routing you like to use?

you know, we need to have a place where we can trade patches, cause I have a fuckload of patches for reason,. Honestly tho, lately I've been trying to cut down on the modulation, I have the curse of over complicating things too much, simplicity is bliss when it comes to electronic music, and most things in life. But one thing I love to do to produce really organic atmospheres is to use a mclass EQ, use the two param eq's make one with a high gain and a real sharp Q, and one with a -gain with a real sharp Q, then use two lfo's to modulate the frequencies really fast, when the two gains cross they produce a popping sound, add some delays and what not and you can produce some really cool effects.

    ^dropbox?

I've got tons of patches in reason I'd be willing to share, too. If anyone's interested.

    Check out this thread: http://chilluminatiforum.org/index.php/topic,5712.0.html

or just go to the dropbox site. I just d/led it, but I imagine it's pretty self-explanatory. I think it maybe works through email addresses?

Got a link to any of your music, Ursa?

I'm working on an ambient track, I really like producing ambient, I love making seductive atmospheres and textures and what not,and a mark isham remix, for his remix contest, http://isham.com/ if you like to remix, you have till may 25th I believe to submit your remix.

I tried out Tone2's Gladiator last night. Gotta say it's living up to the hype I've heard about it so far. Haven't made my way around much of it yet, but it's different from other synths I've used (in a good way).

@Ursa: Ambient's great. I've got a psychedelic ambient project in the works… but it'll be awhile before it sees daylight.
