Anyone rocking max for live?  I just installed it and have been checking out devices made with it.  I need to learn where to start trying to figure this thing out.

another good thing about ableton is that if you are worried about processing power you can just group ever channel except the k & b and put one high pass..

of course i'm thinking if your after perfection you would want certain elements to be high passed even further.

like psilo says anyone who owns ableton should def. grab that new update.. and the demo of max 5.. then demo the max4live stuffs…… really really fun!!

Yeah I put a 150Hz hp filter on my percussion group since I usually don't do much with eqing those since I use samples/transient shapers.

I'm glad Ableton finally allows grouping, my production flow changed a lot (for the better) after A8 came out. Could use buses, but grouping is more fun 🙂

You have one buss available to you and it is your audio out.  Send/Return and Buss are not interchangable since the send/return is not external from the computer.

I'm confused…..I'm not putting an eq on a send, just the group that my channels are routed to- which is basically the same thing as a buss (in that they both work as an input for multiple channels).

also a good idea to roll the kick and the bass off at around 40 or 50hz, or just on the master out.

Also: Remove DC offset!

I generally use a 12db curve at 30-35Hz, but it depends on the track. Not that I'm an expert, but it's worked well in my tracks and I've seen other people say the same.

Yeah, I assumed you'd lose the sub-bass if you roll off everything that high.  It might sound better on smaller systems, but when you get to a larger system…

Some full-on seems to be rolled off at 50 hz, but most tracks are usually at 30 or so. Most good PA systems can get down to 30HZ.  I usually use waves linear lowband mono to cutoff bass usually at 32 hz. Sometimes 21. This EQ has a very sharp cutoff.

I'm just being a picky ass and going by the literal definition of a buss.  I'm more trying to interrupt/argue a point that doesn't matter and you should probably just ignore me.

The majority of the time I tried doing this with the waves plug it caused heavy offset.  What's the dealio?

thanx for the idea about grouping.  One button control over as many trax as I want!!!  Wooo!!!!
