I'm quite sure ableton's native stuff is MORE than capable of any type of synthetic kick. In fact I think mine is pretty good for a 1st try… was just looking for an opinion.

would like to know your thoughts on why that plug in makes it easier though?

I have windows.. I just don't like useing it..

also.. if you watch the workshop video of Robert Henke that Tom Cosm has up you can see Henke's liveset.. which consists of several instances of operator.. that way he can truly be doing “live” production on stage. this is what I want, so learning ableton's tools seems very important to me/easy lol.

I switch the master L + R often while piecing together a track just to test and make sure things sound okay both ways. You don't hear things exactly the same with both your ears, so it's a good idea just to check and make sure you're happy with the way things sound with the left and right channels switched. Also in mono.

EDIT: It's also pretty much essential if you're messing around with stereo spreaders.

EDIT: I don't mean swapping the cables. In Logic you can throw on the 'Gain' filter (in utilities) and it has all the options to do that stuff.

The only decent mastering plugins I've been able to find for mac is the PSP audioware suite. Totally recommended. The Vintage Warmer is amazing.

I'm mostly using Reason/Record so I generally eschew plugins, but if I end up incorporating Logic (probably will, eventually) I'll keep PSP in mind.

haha…reason?  I love reason.  I bought it back when it was 2.5 and have been using it since.  I tend to rewire it into ableton when I use it lately tho.  Just for the workflow really.  I work much faster in live then I do in reason.
