I am thinking of buying one of these for Crystal Sky, it would be cool to walk around with brief news like “VOLUNTEERS NEEDED URGENTLY” or “BONFIRE @ MIDNITE”

In my search for these I don't remember coming across any portables.  Or any portables that had the ability to scroll a word across larger than 4 letters(perfect for displaying 4 letter curse words!)…but not so useful for meaningful communications.  I'm still working on a nuclear powered portable external battery pack though so I could wear mine on my back.

i think the 4 letter one is still ok because it would be viewed during slow walkabouts.
