Is anyone planning on going to this? I really want to, but it might suck logistically.

Is everyone planning on driving out to this if they go? There are some cheap flights into NYC airports:
    ( Departure: ORD 9:55a – LGA 1:02p
    Arrival: LGA 5:09p – ORD 6:48p)

That flight is only $239. NYC is a bit over 3 hours to echo lake, but it's about $80 cheaper to fly into there than Syracuse (which is about an hour and a half). Would anyone be interested in this? If not I may look to see if there are people traveling from those cities to the party to save money on the rental car.

As far as I know I am going.  Wow…239 is cheap…So is it just Kevin and Andy then.  Now you guy's got a terd, I mean, third.

I guess we'll figure shit as it goes down.  But I AM going to this…

Excelente! They've got $105 early bird tickets for the party on sale until Wednesday. If you're in, we should book all our stuff now and save a bunch of money. I'll give ya a call tonight and we can figure this out.

Nice…the more Midwesterners going is making this more and more appealing.  Just need to figure out how i can tweak my work schedule.

I'll check out the flight stuff Kevin. i was planning to drive but I'd rather fly for that cheap. It would be cool to have some familiar faces around

Paying a little bit more for what's like a 2 and a half hour flight > 16 hour drive (for me).

Andy- I just searched on Kayak.com for that flight. If we can get 3-4 people to pitch in on a rental car it will be pretty cheap too (especially if one of us is 25+).

If we wanna fly out of O'Hare I'm sure my parents would be more than welcome to having some people over at my house (45 mins from ohare) the night before – just to shorten the travel time on friday.

I am 27 and planning on pitching in. This is shaping up to being an awesome trip! I'm just on a short lunch break now but once i get done i'll do my ticket preorder and check out kayak.com.

edit: the festival starts on thursday kevin, the friday in your previous post scares me 🙂

Oh yeah. I wanna avoid taking thursday and friday off work since I'm already using a bunch of vacation days.

There is a flight leaving O'hare at 4pm on thursday and gets to nyc (lga) at 7pm (I could just work a half day and make this one). I don't think they do much on thursday night anyway (you won't be missing any big names for sure). Also, thursday flights are $20 cheaper too, but it's an extra day to rent a car.

Might also be nice to get in thursday night cause Laguardia SUCKS to travel to.

i have no real set plans and i have July 4th through the 19th off of work so my options are pretty open. I'll just play it by ear and as long as we get this figured out together i think we'll be fine!

Ok, here's the plan for now:

Flight leaving O'hare on 7/9 @ 4:01pm and getting into LGA @ 7:12pm (United 0688). Flight leaving LGA on 7/12 @5:09pm and getting into O'Hare @ 6:48pm (United 0689). I can't get a direct link to the bookings, so just look it up by flight number. You'll have to book them separately since I didn't see a round trip with this, it still costs the same so it doesn't matter.

Nick/Adam/anyone else who wants to go: what do you guys think of this plan?

I'm really thinking flying in thursday night is a good idea. Seriously guys, LGA SUCKSSSSSSSSSSSSS to fly into/drive out of/drive into/fly out of, those flight times will minimize the suck. However, it is cheap and has good flight times….

Ahahaha.  I just found a flight from San Fran to New York on Virgin America for 218 bucks.  They don't fly out of Chicago though.  Might consider it if I actually can even afford that and get the time off.  😛

Virgin's crazy too…touch screens at every seat, mood lighting, food you can order from your seat, power outlets, wifi, etc.  Wowza!
