I agree, I hope we can keep it.

NCN has better buildings and electricity i.e. infrastructure, but it is SO far away from Chicago, and the neighbors are more annoying, so noise complaints are a bigger issue there. But we love NCN too. NCN would seem nearly ideal from the Minneapolis POV.

NCN = win as far as we are concerned.

Also – if you think thats far, bite my ass for making us drive 10 hours to peoria.

After some thought – I guess the REAL best place to throw parties is wherever we can get away with it. That means NCN, Peoria, Iowa, and abandoned buildings in Minneapolis. Madison has some pretty harsh laws, if I remember right, and Chicago is even worse.

Xcience is eyeing the 1st/2nd weekend of May for a outdoor. (incidentally id love leads on IL spots)
as from my perspective MO or ARK where i have current hookups is a bit far for the general mass of the midwest to generate sufficient numbers.
I think IL is any orgs best bet at numbers, as its not to far from major pop centers, and close enough to WI and IA that the dedicated trancers there will make the trip.

though i do love NCN's comforts as well, to bad the neighbors complain so much?

Has anyone in the past tried buying off, or putting up the complaining neighbors in a hotel for a weekend? That approach works quite well everytime ive used it before

I live in Peoria, but since I'm pretty new to the scene I don't know of any good places around here.  I'd love to help out with an event sometime.  If anyone's gonna be at psyology and wants to talk with me, just send me a pm and we'll find a way to meet up.  This being said, it'd have to be some place inside if it's gonna be sometime in the next 5 months.  I wish I had a big plot of land or some abandoned warehouse to use (if this was the case I'd be havin a party every weekend 🙂 ).

why doesnt any one do fund raising at any or all events.  then every one could “pay” for a spot of land some where on the wisco, Ill border.  build buildings on it for winter events.  hell even come up with the creed or what ever that thing is that a “Chirch” has. 

i have also reasearched into this idea and have come to not having enough resources at this time for me to accomplish this goal.

The events which seem clear are June and September 2008, both possibly at Black River Falls, Wisconsin. I don't think we have other plans but it's too soon to tell.

It would help if more serious, committed organizers came forward.

June and September sound cool… but won't the September one be too close to Earthdance??
