The events which seem clear are June and September 2008, both possibly at Black River Falls, Wisconsin. I don't think we have other plans but it's too soon to tell.

It would help if more serious, committed organizers came forward.

Are you asking for help, or are you saying we need more promotion companies?

I think Between me, anand, and Eddie in MN, Mindoutpsyde in Iowa, Chilluminati and Trance Syndicate in IL, we got it pretty locked down as far as people throwing enough parties. If its help you want, Iowa and MN are always willing to pitch in…

I am thinking Chicago-area, northern Illinois southern Wisconsin, just Chilluminati. I agree there are enough independent crews. I would be more comfortable if Chilluminati had two more committed crew members. But people you can rely consistently, event after event, on don't come forward that often. That's just my own opinion.

I feel myself, and other Chilluminati crew have said, that we can do two full weekend events next year. Add to that all the other crews doing parties and I am sure we are looking at least one party every two months somewhere in the midwest.

In the city of Chicago there is still that police crackdown situation, so I'm not sure we want to throw a party inside city limits. We will see.

Wisconsin and Iowa are probably the ideal locations to get the biggest draws.

I don't agree. The biggest psy-only event in the midwest was GeoLogic, with about 500 attendees. That was in southern Illinois.

Next year my concentration is on Gemini in June and then BM.  I'll be available next year to fully volunteer for Chilluminati events.  In 2009 though I want to really step up for the Midwest scene.  I really want to grow it.  I don't know where else I'll be in life in the coming years.  I'm committed to making it all happen though whether I'll be working, going to school or being a bum.  No matter how maaaad things may get I always end up being the kind of person I've set out to become.  Good times ahead!

I agree with Jeffrey: Ambient-only Bioluminescence in Chicago gathered more than 200 people …

^^ Too bad Bioluminescence turned un-chill, very fast… and seemed to remain that way the entire time.

Nah … there were few attempts but, if I remember correctly, started to happen late and did not last too long  😉

PS. By ambient only I meant non-psytrance  😉

Furthermore: Earth Dance 2007 in Elandorf/Illinois had as many people as Sacred Earth in Black River Falls, WI. Illinois events will always be strong if we find a good venue.

I think the closer we can get a venue to a major metro area (Chicago or Minneapolis) the better we will probably do over the long run. Iowa fans are beautiful but I think it's just common sense that in the long run the major metro areas will be the biggest fan bases eventually. Iowa fans make up for it in enthusiasm.

I agree, I hope we can keep it.

NCN has better buildings and electricity i.e. infrastructure, but it is SO far away from Chicago, and the neighbors are more annoying, so noise complaints are a bigger issue there. But we love NCN too. NCN would seem nearly ideal from the Minneapolis POV.
