how is he supposed to do this and still have the mix as one downloadable mp3 file?  ???

With a .cue file for example.

I guess this is the oportunity for me to learn something new here so please explain how you do it exactly and save me time on the research.

Just open a cue file in notepad and make yours follow the same format.

Hahaha. Things are getting technical here. Sorry, inspite of all my computer knowledge, I have clearly failed to understand to sound technology 🙂

absolutely my friend, I have already downloaded the mix and as soon as I have enough time to listen to it carefully will give you full feedback.

Your biggest issues would appear to be phrasing/beatmatching/EQuing.  Overlapping kicks are abrasive, making just about every transition unfit for listening or dancefloor.

That said, I like that you went from more aggressive to prettier fare towards the end, but the mix still has a very “grab bag” feel to it.  Try arranging your tracks in Winamp (or other listening software) first to figure out a pleasing flow.

Thanks for the feedback Paul..I was hoping to hear some honest feedback like this because I was using just my computer without my midi controller when recording this set..:) This was recorded live with no edits whatsoever..and with the sound system there people didnt seem to notice much from the dancing I saw…lol!!

Eqing with the mouse was a pain but I will try to re-record the set using the controller to get better results technically..I disagree about the flow though as I feel that the track sequence creates a story according to me..and that was the most important part of the mix to me where I spend the most amount of time!! Most of the mix came together during a “special experience” so can speak for that myself..!!

Ok, as promised (I always keep my word) after giving the mix a solid listen I am coming back with the review:

I like the opening track – I don't know if you did it or it's built into the track but I like how it speeds up with every bar.
First transition at 4:00 time mark – could be a phrase later but it still sounds decent and I like the follow up. But here jumps out right away the first problem – you seem to have tracks beatmatched ok but they are not completely in sync and you can hear the kick kinda splashing: you need to do those little adjustments with pitch bending.
The transition at 13:13 is one of the nicest ones in the entire mix. The transition at 17:09 is way too busy and when you come out of it feels like the energy drops a little. Proper eq-ing and better phrase matching will help you to do it much smoother.
I don't really like the middle part of the mix. Sounds like you really rushing with those mixes which interrupts the nice flow of the first part.
23:45 and the next transition – it really sounds like you start mixing in random point.
I also don't like the fact you play 4 tracks in a row by the same artist. Using up to two tracks by the same artist in the mix of this length would be more proper and more adventurous for listeners.
I really like how you mix in and out of the first Transwave track and actually you seem to be maintaing a better flow from this point till the end of your mix.
To be honest: although all the tracks are harmonic to each other I don't like the idea of blending goa and psy trance in one mix like that. I think this is the problem number one in maintaing perfect flow. The production level between both types of trance is too obvious.

Good effort Anand but the mix needs a little better programming (mostly phrase matching) and
eq-ing. It also help sometimes to bring those highs down in the outgoing track esp. after switching the bassline – this and pitch bending will help you to get rid off that splashy sound.

Sorry, it took so long and you are probably way beyond this point of your dj evolution but I wanted to give you honest feedback. Cheers!
