I have played this mix two times till now..once was at the Rave-R-Treat in Minneapolis WI where I played after Meta at the 4-5 am slot and then again the other day in a private party.

What do you do when you listen to an album and it gives you the vision for the mix and many tracks from it would be perfect for it??:)

Time of Illusion is a very well made album which made it hard for me not to take tracks from it:) I kinda see myself as a person promoting

the artists i like..not just my skills as a dj..does that make any sense??

– split your mixes between tracks please  8)

are there goa tracks that have production quality similar to new tracks?..the goa tracks i used are all flac files that should be lossless right?..I tried to use the highest quality files to minimize the sound quality difference but still keep the intended theme of the mix.

– when mixing old school with new stuff try to find tracks that will blend with new productions without big difference in sound (it kills the feeling for me)

Use wavelab or any other wave editor to chop it up.

As far as the old and new – this is exactly what I told you that night. If you are going to do it, you have to think like a hardcore DJ and arrange the tracks in increasing order of production quality. Stuff that sounds older has to go first or it just sounds like ass after a new school track with the better drum sounds.

I will comment before I listen because I heard the set live in MN and I loved it. It followed perfectly to Meta and it was absolutly beautiful.

I am an avid dancer not a dj/producer so I could care less what tracks are which. Either way, really good shit man!

“SOUNDS OLDER” – it's not how old it is, it's if the track still holds up. Although, I have a tendency to call poorly produced prog psy goa, since thats what goa sounds like to me 😉
