From my position down here it seems silly to argue with people who do shit in space. I'm not really into conspiracies, I just think they know a lot more than they are letting on, which is probably essential at this point.

Or perhaps NASA and the New York Times know that using the term “bombing” would not be a popular tactic. However, when you read their articles they describe techniques like “payload” and “the impact will eject material from the crater’s surface to create a plume.” Hmm, sounds like an explosion to me. It's basic rhetoric! And I hardly would call Scientific American “sensationalist”.

NASA Discovers Large Lunar Ice Field

MOFFETT FIELD, Calif. — NASA announced Friday the discovery of a large field of ice on the moon.

Just weeks after NASA's Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (L-CROSS) mission analyzed a plume of debris generated by the impact of a satellite into a crater near the moon's south pole, scientists said the findings suggest the presence of frozen water at the site of impact.

Over the last decade, scientists have found some hints of underground ice on the moon's poles, but this is the best evidence yet.
