did ya ever hear about the ghost that supposedly haunts the Harvey Expo/Photon?  Back in the day I guess a candykid died in one of the tunnels of the Photon and no one found her until the next day after the party.  So they stopped doing parties there after that but started up again in 2001 I think.  Supposedly people hear noises when setting up and taking down for parties there.  And party kids supposedly get approached in the tunnels by this girl asking if you have any rolls.  Then when the person turns away the girl just disappears!   ;D

So my first was at Dalton in 98.  I just had to find more jungle music so I found the party on the net.  Rinse and Jamalski from San fran were there…my first live MC act.  I was hooked from there on out.  Some girl put a smiley sticker on me because I looked like I was having so much fun.  I was pretty much straight edge through my life, not ignorant or intolerant about anything that was out there but it took me awhile to finally KNOW why people would just come up to me and rub my head.  I often think so very fondly of my rave experiences, all of the wonderful people I've met and continue to meet, awesome music I've been exposed to.  I wouldn't trade a thing about it.  My life has been so greatly enhanced by it.

Tis not nice to put your definitions on other people!  Everyone belongs, humans (and other sentient beings) are not to be categorized.  And the worse thing one could do to “it” is to define it.  If anything I think the mistake ravers made was to try to define it, who belongs, how should it be, what is a valid “rave” experience or people…blah blah blah.  DOH!  There I go defining what “ravers” were right or wrong about.  Oh well, I guess the best I can do is to be aware of my automatic judgement of people.  Try not judging a person the first time you meet them?  It's hard, I still struggle with it.  But do try not to define people or things.  Open mind, open heart policy is in effect!   ;D

Today's raver may be tomorrow's visionary president taking us beyond this mess. If they never saw that one moment of unity, through however they got there, then that chance is lost. If they come to a psy  event and get prejudice and snobbery from so called “enlightened” people then we would never know their potential to grow and be amazing.

I'm not here long enough to have full view of american rave scene and all changes it went through …. I realized, and accepted after a while  ;D that it's an american scene which is different and I can't expect it to be like the one I'm used to it (Europe) … so I'm trying to pick up the best of it and enjoy it. Talking about “fuckin' ravers” is just a joke. If I offended somebody I apologize. Although this scene is not different than any other community i the world. Within first couple months I realized/heard/been told that rave scene is separated more or less from club scene (I'm talking about Chicagoland area). Seeing a raver in a club was/is a almost a miracle and vice versa. I talked to many regular “clubbers” and realized that many of them find ravers “…” (You know all those adjectives). I talked to many regular ravers and guess waht …they think exactly the same about regular “clubbers”. So don't tell me that one group or another is better. I have also to agree with statement that raves here in USA are/were almost only alternative source of new electronic music (comparing to MTV/radiostations/etc.) young (under 21) Americans could experience. And now …when raves are illegal(like here in Chicago) … scene is kinda burning out …clubs are filled with people who don't give a fuck who's spinning … and here's no alternative for young, wondering people (Internet is not enough imho).

I laugh at fucked up candy kids talking about their bracelets. I laugh at drunk beerheads hitting on every single chick in a club. I laugh at myself. Most people here are open minded enough to detect humor/sarcasm/joke. At least I think so. Do not idealise anything. Raves aren't perfect. Club parties aren't perfect. Chillluminati parties are far from perfection. Just appreciate what we have and move on.

…I met this old lady from Iowa at many of the Chilluminati events and she was super cool! If I meet more like her then maybe my outlook towards that side of the scene will change. I'll never turn my back on any group of people. I'll bitch and moan, but I'm always looking to prove myself wrong.

Maybe the vibe you send off is being reflected back to you?  If it was in Chicago, get out of Chicago! A lot of the people that goto events there are known to be a bit on a snobby side. I actually swore off ever going to Chicago events until a certain group enticed me with a psy one..

So, let me get this straight, it's ok for you to do substances but if someone else is doing it for different reasons that don't coincide with your personal path then they are in the wrong? E can be as wonderful a tool as any other thing. It helped me heal myself from things without even knowing what needed to be healed.  Of course, everything I do is with intention but I have seen so called “fucked up” people get moments of clarity that have changed their lives in a beautiful way.

Well Jeff, I'm against any kind of drug abuse. I've done E too and I have nothing against it. It just happened to be the drug I've seen kids overdosing on the most. That and meth.
I've seen some good friends go down the tubes because of the whole Chicago E club scene.
