Well i guess that means EVERYONE better be on their BEST behavior… as always!!!

oh, and just to put your fears of an undercover evil media person to rest, we have given the Daily Iowan (which is a student run newspaper), permission to film the event. Please keep in mind that this is the University of Iowa student newspaper, not a major media outlet, and so the person who WROTE the article will be the SAME PERSON running the camera. She will not be getting in peoples faces, she will not be nosey or invasive, but still, everyone should be helping everyone else to be on their absolute most professional behavior.

This should not alarm anyone, as this person is a good person, the same one who wrote the article, and she has already been to one of our events and danced all night long, so she is only looking to document the most appropriate aspects of the event and nothing more. So even if there was an undercover media camera around, it doesnt matter, because everyone will be on their best behavior since there will be a public camera with positive intentions roaming the building for a while. This is not a warehouse, this is not a concert hall, this is a Hall of Fame building which houses the Heismann Trophy and other precious pieces of art, so this is the last time I will beat this dead horse by saying that We are entrusting that everyone will be helping us out with security at this event. Keep your eyes peeled for rule breakers, and lets make this an amazing good time!

and for the record, the newspaper ASKED US if they could do the article, after this journalist I have been speaking of wandered into one of our events around 2am, and ended up staying until the end of the party, glued to the dance floor! 🙂

All ready for my Biochemistry exam tomorrow afternoon… going to be a wild one! we are covering The Citric Acid Cycle, Oxidative Phosphorylation, Photosynthesis, Lipid Metabolism and Synthesis, and Nitrogen Metabolism and Synthesis… all at a chemical level, so very detailed, otherwise i wouldnt be up this late. 🙂

@Collision: its one girl with one camera… Whitney Warne, the same girl that wrote the magnificent article, and i dont see her as a threat, so theres no need to give her a time that she MUST leave. if she wants to be there past midnight, i think she should be there. especially to see people dancing hardcore to the main performers. its more important that she gets awesome dance floor footage than anything.

Wow. This shit is going down. I have never seen this level of excitement for a party before. After the article came out yesterday, I was talking to couple of random people in the lab to whom I was promoting the event and they already knew about it from the article and showed lot of interest in coming on 12th. Hahaha, so I guess even if the article was read by 500 people (which is not a big number considering around 10K papers are printed everyday) and around 10 new ppl come down, I think we can call it a successful endeavor. Today 10 new people, tomorrow it will be 20 and so on……..

PS: One a side note, 50 Ensure protein shakes have procured and it will be available at the party for 3USD. If anything is leftover I will carry it over to the afterparty at Abe.

btw, while whitney warne's article certainly did a phenomenal job distancing psytrance gatherings from altered consciousness, did anyone notice the giant blacklight mushroom tapestry prominantly displayed in a few of the photo gallery shots? if you're not worried you're not worried, i'm only pointing it out…

all that aside, i haven't been this pumped for an event (aside from Resonate) in a long time. you guys at MOP are doing a phenomenal job putting this event together, there's no denying that… i'll do my best to help the newer people keep it discreet (even though i'm a newer person myself).
